GUILTY KY - Faith Robinson, 4, dies of head trauma, Winchester, 28 May 2008

A woman accused of killing her four-year-old daughter pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges Friday.

Jessilyn Robinson, 34, of 1287 McClure Road, was accused of causing the head injuries resulting in Faith Raeanne Robinson’s death in May 2008. She was scheduled to stand trial in October for murder, but pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter instead.

According to court officials, prosecutors recommended a 10-year prison sentence as part of the plea agreement. She will be sentenced in Clark Circuit Court on Nov. 12. by Judge William Clouse.

Robinson was arrested Sept. 25, 2008, nearly four months after her daughter died in Lexington.

On May 28, 2008, paramedics were called to her home. She told authorities that her daughter had fallen in the bathtub. Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue said previously that the paramedics did not notice any other obvious wounds when they transported the child to the hospital.

She died the following day. An autopsy determined that Faith Robinson died from a closed head injury consistent with being shaken violently, rather than from a fall.

Jessilyn Robinson has been incarcerated in the Clark County Detention Center since her arrest.
