Bill for Kyron Horman investigation reaches $300,000

The massive search, for instance, hasn't yielded a single clue about what happened to the boy. The sheriff, Dan Staton, has dedicated all but one of the agency's detectives to the case. The investigation so far has cost taxpayers $300,000, prompting cuts in other areas of the agency.

Note that RDSQRL listed the book on May 18 — less than three weeks before Kyron disappeared from Skyline School on June 4.

Curious about the entry and whether it was indeed Horman’s, we emailed her criminal-defense attorney, Stephen Houze, on Tuesday afternoon for comment. He has not yet responded.

We also contacted bookcrossing.com and asked them to tell us where RDSQRL’s IP address was located. Heather Mehra-Pedersen, co-founder of the website, declined.

“I have rounded up the IP, but we would need some kind of approach by law enforcement or some legitimate cause to release it as we are very strict about releasing info about our members,” Mehra-Pedersen wrote in an email.

I thought this article was interesting:

Why Does Michael Cook Not See Terri Horman as Wicked Witch of the West?

http://newsblaze.com/story/20100714095724kays.nb/topstory.html

"Let me play the devil's advocate for just a moment. Black is white, and day is night in such fancies. If Terri is utterly guilty of Kyron's abduction and possible elimination, then I would expect her to stay much lower to the ground. Maybe she is acting out in a public drama, by sending erotic pics to Cook that she knows will hit the public eye? In other words, this is reverse psychology in play. Terri is just giving the public what they expect."

Under intense media scrutiny, Kaine Horman (with briefcase) and lawyer Laura Rackner wait to cross Fifth Street in downtown Portland on the way to a Thursday court appearance. Rackner and Horman were seeking to have his wife Terri Moulton Horman removed from their home. The estranged couple eventually decided that she had to leave the home by 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office received some unsolicited help from a former military investigator this week in the case of missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman.
Edward Dames, a retired remote viewer who once worked with the Army, worked with his team for three weeks to try to determine the physical location of the missing boy, who has not been since June 4 at Skyline School in northwest Portland.
Dames said the missing boy is located on private property roughly 10 miles south of the school.
"He's not where police are searching," he said. "(He's) not in the water and not that far away."
A remote viewer is a specialized psychic once used by the CIA and U.S. military during the cold war. Dames was the inspiration for the movie "The Men Who Stare At Goats."
He said he uses a mental technique to locate a missing person's geographic location and then goes out into the field to find the target. However, Dames said he's unable to do so in this case because he said the boy is on private property, which can present unknown dangers for his team.
