LA LA - Jake Latiolais, 22, Baton Rouge, 29 August 2014

It was the early morning hours of August 29, 2014 when Jake Latiolais told friends he was headed to West Baton Rouge, Louisiana. That was the last time anyone heard from the 22-year-old. Shortly after, police received an anonymous call about a person going over the railing of the Mississippi Ridge Bridge. Responding officers found Jake’s truck on the shoulder of the bridge. The truck was still running, and Jake’s cellphone was on the pavement next to it. A dive team was called in, but nothing of significance was found. Officials are investigating his case as a suicide. Family members insist Jake would not simply disappear on his own or take his own life.

Jake Latiolais / Missing Person / UPDATE
We are asking for signatures, via change.org, to help bring awareness and some media attention to the investigation into the disappearance of Jake Latiolais.

You can use the this Sign the Petition link provided to visit the petition page.

Additionally, we posted links to the updates on change.org and for additional information, though very little exists, since Jake was declared a MISSING PERSON (Endangered / Suspicious Circumstances), on 08/29/2014.

The Systems of Accountability FAILED for Jake.

We must continue trying. Together we can help repair these systems so no missing person EVER falls through the cracks, as if that person never was born, went to school, graduated with honors, worked, was starting his own business, paid taxes, until 08/29/2014, then he became, and I quote,
...just a simple missing person...

Anyone have anything new on this case? With the recent case in Baton Rouge of the same similarity, anyone think foulplay was involved in this case aswell, or was it possibly the same sad ending? I really hope the anonymous caller was interviewed.

I just watched Danelle Hallan's coverage on this case, and I agree with her that we need to know first whether Jake communicated with his friend(s) by actual phone call or by text before he disappeared. Anyone can send a text, but hearing his voice would confirm when he was last alive.

It doesn't seem that the phone records were publicly available when Danelle made her video, but the Unfound Podcast posted an analysis of them on YouTube in Feb 2021. I'll just say that, while the activity and content look like typical usage to me, I find it questionable that, according to the podcast, the people in those interactions haven't all come forward to corroborate the communication.

The 911-call came in around 2:45 a.m. The last time Jake's phone received a lengthy incoming call from someone he knew was 2:03 a.m. If this person can confirm hearing Jake's voice, then this means something happened to Jake in just 40 minutes.

However, if this call was just a voicemail, then we need to go back to the last time Jake's phone made an outgoing call, which was around 12 a.m. of the same day. So now there are almost 3 hours we need to account for.

But if Jake wasn't the one who made this call, and none of the other communication can be corroborated, then we could be dealing with an entire day!
