Could someone please tell me how Jaren's name is pronounced? I hear it in my head as J(air)-en, but I realize it could be Jay-ren, or Jar-en (like a jar). I have so much sadness in my heart for her.

Jaren was 15 years old in 2005 - she wrote about going with a friend to enroll in high school, said she would go " next year" because all of her friends were in that high school. Sounds like she was pretty much on her own at that young age.

I wish we had more info on the bf, the club, the taxi, etc. and etc.

Prayers for Jaren and her loved ones. May this horrific crime be solved very soon. This breaks my heart.

I read it as Jared with an N, but I don't really know.

I'm hoping if there are multiple LE agencies working the same case, friendly rivalry (too strong a word, it's late) might move things along.

I think it's possible that site wasn't updated as time went on and the information is stale, just like one of the sites she hadn't posted on since after Katrina. The reason I think that is because she didn't update her location - "work" is probably much better in New Orleans than Hammond. You wouldn't advertise yourself as being 45 minutes away from the action if that's truly what the purpose was.

It does show her current age, though. She and BF had not been in NOLO for very long.

AM's comments just gave me the willies. They were almost incomprehensible. However, if what she posted turns out to be true, I'll eat crow as well. Seemed like the ramblings of an unbalanced person to me, though.

ETA: I just looked at her FB, and it is strange as well. She's had a FB account since 2009, but she's only posted recently, and only about missing people, murders, etc. I just find it a little odd that she never posts the typical stuff that others post (what's for dinner, etc.). I don't think it's odd to post about missing people and murders, but I DO think it's odd to post ONLY about very recent missing people and murders.

the story about the two bodies in bed is "supposedly" about the four women murdered in atlantic city. ill try and dig it up tomorrow. strange...she may have read it the same place i did or not...

Maybe just an "ID addict"? I know I saw an episode on Investigation Discovery about what she is speaking about... Tried to locate it... can't find it though....

You're probably right. It was just sooooooo poorly written that I had to really struggle to decipher what she meant. Warnings interspersed with facts and the absence of punctuation made it hard to follow, you know?

Probably because Jaren was paying for the room. I don't think he has a job. MOO.

Based on the report citing the motel manager, they were paying for the room on a dayto day basis in cash. Usually check out time is late morning at most motels/hotels, so if the bf had to pay for the room by that time to continue staying there but didn't have the money to pay (as the manager stated), then he would have to be out of the room quickly. Moo. I don't see anything odd about his moving out of the room soon after notifying LE. Moo

Please excuse me for butting in like this but I knew this girl and her name is pronounced exactly the way you described. She used to stay the night at my house when she was young 13. She was friends with one of my daughters back then. They share a common good friend who calls herself Jaren's sister. Her daughter is being well taken care of and Jaren's brother still lives in the area of Hammond, his girlfriends brother is dating my nieces best friend. Yikes that was a mouthful.

Jaren had a sad life and I cant help but feel that poor girl just never had a chance. She was kind, loving, easy going and easier to love. Its a very sad day in our little Parish.

To me, it sounds more like AM knows a lot about posting nonsense on the internet, and is under the impression that there's only one murderer on the loose at any given time in the United States.

Unless she posted something beyond the two comments on that article, I'm not sure why anyone's paying her any mind. Sounds like the typical "prophesies" and "insight" offered up on psychic-friendly crime forums all day, every day.

I've been up all night, and I've only read a few pages of this thread. First, my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends. Secondly, to my knowledge, we don't have a mafia in Bay St. Louis, not even in relationship to the casinos. I could be wrong considering I moved east to Goula seven years ago. Things could be different now.
