Also, there may be more to TS's history and they may be connecting the dots from his travels to many states and connecting him with crimes elsewhere.

Ahh yes - see THIS is what I was wondering. Is there a possibility that this is MUCH more than just Jaren's case? I think the possibility is high.

I'm literally pulling this thought out of my *advertiser censored**, but I think maybe having to do with a crime that spans multiple states gets the FBI involved and they could be leading the investigation.

Pure speculation.. feel free to discredit me..

That and also perhaps they have more sophisticated equipment for analyzing evidence? More reliable and/or faster turnaround time?

I'm almost positive that when they were processing the house in Kenner that the reporter said LE included Hancock county LE, local LE and FBI

Definite possibility. Probable, even.

Or the charges will be federal...not sure how that would happen, but that would require the feds taking custody of evidence. Is TS in federal custody?

"HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. -

Some of the evidence in the investigation surrounding a Bourbon Street dancer’s disappearance and gruesome death has been taken to FBI headquarters, investigators told WDSU."

Why would evidence be moved to headquarters vs. staying with the local agencies?

I went over and looked at the FBI's site to see if I could try and determine why the evidence was sent there. It left open a giant range of reasons for me to speculate on.

There may be experts there that specialize in certain forensic analysis that would be needed in this case.

I'm just glad that the best of the best will be working on getting justice for Jaren.

The FBI Laboratory does work free of charge for local and state law enforcement agencies. Some of what they offer is not available on the local or state level. Sometimes, it's a matter of expediting the process by taking to the people who can do it the fastest. In other cases, they want the best scientists on the job because the scientists could be asked to provide testimony on their findings.

Well, that's interesting.

What would be the reason for moving the evidence to FBI HQ?

It's always been my understanding that when a crime crosses state lines that it is always headed up by the FBI. Am I wrong

I.e.....kidnapped in one state and taken to another
Killed in one state and dumped in another

Does anyone else remember the woman who was responsible for all those killings near the border of Texas and Mexico where she had boiled all those heads and eaten all those people, etc.? I just vaguely remember the case, but it seems to me like she killed and dismembered over 10 people. The only other thing I can remember about the case was that she was a witch of some kind? It is the only other time (in my life) I can remember a woman being involved with murder/dismembering people....

http://murderpedia.org/female.A/a/aldrete-sara.htm

The above link is the first I have read about dismembering bodies, human sacrifice, etc. It is the case from Matamoros involving Sara Aldrete and Mark Kilroy. I think it serves as a great background for the actions of the two perps herein.

The FBI has authority to investigate specific crimes, and they fall within two categories: (1) National Security Priorities, which include counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and cyber crimes; and (2) Criminal Priorities, which include public corruption, civil rights, organized crime, white-collar crime, and major theft/violent crime. If you go to the FBI’s web site, you can click on links to get more specific information on each of these sub categories. Here is the link: http://www.fbi.gov/hq.htm

the link says serial killers are included in the violent crimes, also interesting it states when the local LE are either not doing their jobs or hindering an investigation the FBI will get involved.

IMO its all of the above-locals not able to do enough, crossing state lines and the violent crime. MOO

well now that I read the thread it looks like someone just wanted to know why evidence would of been taken to the FBI. Sorry but the info I found was interesting to me anyways! :)

Mann Act violation, maybe? Transporting another across state lines for an immoral purpose?

Some were questioning about the 2'' scar on TS's wrist.
I did see that verified on http://search.criminalcheck.com/pdd...C&identifier=&sessionid=>SPEAKS,TERRY</a></td

NCIC Scar/Mark/Tattoo SC L HND 1 ACCIDENT

NCIC Scar/Mark/Tattoo SC R WRIST 2 SELF INFLICTED

NCIC Scar/Mark/Tattoo TAT L SHLD SKULL Scar/Mark/Tattoo Description NONE - USED FOR TATTOO ONLY

It was pretty much a given... possible suicide attempt.
I wonder how he got the scar on his left hand...

He must have been L handed. to cut his right wrist...
Sounds like he may have had a "knife slip" in the past
and ended up injured...
Anyone think he has stabbed someone before?

Is TCS's tatoo on his left shoulder? It would not show in the video then, correct? Did the guy in the video have a tatoo on his right shoulder?
I'm not warmed up yet and too lazy to look (nevermind). But I think I remember peeps trying to figure out a tatoo on the guy's right shoulder/arm.

*****, what's up? Tatoo is on this guy's right upper arm. Are the people who are questioning if that is TCS in the Temptations video on to something?

This is probably not the right wording but, would transporting a dead body be a consideration ? vs. kidnapping?

I agree. No disrespect but NOPD tend to muck things up and Hancock County not experienced enough or equipped enough to deal with this type of crime. Hopefully this is in better hands. Too many hands in the fire can really mess things up.

If there was a party that might include dancing and/or prostitution, it would qualify for Mann Act treatment.

Among our specialized capabilities:

Evidence Response Team (ERT): In San Antonio, we have a 24-member ERT made up of special agents, professional support employees, and other specialists who are sent to crime scenes to secure the area and exhaustively gather and process physical evidence. Each team member has a forensic specialty and has been extensively trained to conduct a variety of technical tasks, including taking photographs, diagramming and surveying scenes, fingerprinting, analyzing blood stains and splatters, determining bullet trajectories, recovering DNA, gathering and processing the smallest of clues, and more. ERT members coordinate evidence collection and processing with the FBI Laboratory, and they assist local law enforcement upon request.

even with this being the SA office I bet most offices have the same capabilities

He has tats on both right and left upper arm. We could see the one in the video on his right arm.

Kidnapping and crossing state line is Federal. Kidnapping alone involves the FBI and crossing the state line is a big deal. Thats what I've come to understand anyway. Its why the FBI in the beginning was involved with Jonbenet Ramsey, because of it being a kidnapping.
