I don't know, Margarita, but I'd be looking at assaults inside the home, like in Jessica's case. He's serving 11 years for Burglary of a Habitation in Orange County, TX.


This has to be him. I searched federal and state facilities. There are two inmates who match the first and last name. The other guy is causcasian.

I can't believe they have a suspect! I haven't posted here in quite awhile but decided to look up Jessica's case. Couldn't believe it when I saw someone confessed. I hope they do scrutinize his past and see if he was involved in other cases. I also followed the Helen Hill case and wondered like the previous poster if there is a connection. God bless both the Hawk and Hill families.

"Joseph Brant come forward to accept responsibility for these previously unsolved murders," said Brant's attorney, William Sothern. "He wants to resolve these investigations and bring closure to the families. He is ready to do his time."

Brant had already pleaded guilty and was awaiting a lifetime prison sentence imposed in Dec. 2016, in connection to the stabbing death of botanist Jessica Hawk in her Bywater home on August 11, 2008.

I read about that confession last night and immediately searched for her on websleuths to see what the theories/news was up until now. I didn't follow her story in 2008. When I saw no one had posted this, I was like - all I hope they see this! He didn't seem to fit the profile everyone was thinking. Glad he confessed. Can't believe they found him as a suspect 4 yrs ago and are just getting what they need from him. Glad it happened though! May she Rest In Peace. Finally!

Wow....the thought that she was killed by a serial killer wasn’t even a thought. I’m glad he got caught AND confessed!
