Lamar Odom fighting for life after overdosing at brothel

I think it may take a miracle but I hope he pulls through this and it is the driving force needed for him to change his life.

I would think that too, by the medical description.

But I work and live in the Calabasas area, where all the Kardashian drama takes place. It is kind of a small town. Odom has been seen by friends of mine, a few times, where he was very very high on drugs. One of my good friends is a high end caterer that works lots of local events. She says he is known to have a very bad drug addiction and he mixes pills, hard drugs and alcohol , sometimes on long binges.

So I am thinking it was more of an OD situation. But I could be wrong.
 
I don't discount drugs at all, I have seen many injecting cocaine users with what they call 'blown foot' which is a terrible localized infection from using dirty needles, what if it something like this, plus being run down from his unhealthy lifestyle, plus overdose of drugs and alcohol over the last few days, could lead to a medical situation with a number of causes and issues at once.

Yes, Katy.....ITA. Terribly sad but I think they are running tox screens now & the results will show that cognac & herbal Viagra were the least of his worries.

It is probably all of the above. I am sure he has painful injuries from years as a professional athlete. And he probably takes pain pills just to deal with everyday pain. Then the emotional pain from the divorce and his tragic loss of friends to suicide likely leads to alcohol/drugs.

And he is not caring for himself, for sure. If one wants to get healthy and sober, one doesn't head out to a Nevada Brothel. :facepalm:
 
His drug use sounds like it was at the far end of the scale to me, by that stage there is heart and liver damage as well as an inability to regulate 'safer' doses .. That combined with mixing opiates with alcohol and amphetamines is a recipe for disaster on a number of fronts.
 
These situations are so damn sad. Every time.

He has teenage kids. I didn't know that. Never watched the show but read lots of stories about the family.

Going to bed now, hoping for a miracle, but realistically I'm pretty sure what will be the outcome. :(
 
He has had a pretty sad life. Lamar's mother died from cancer when he was 12/13, his father was a terrible heroin addict, so he was raised by his grandmother. One of Lamar's children died when he was around 6 months from SIDS - I think that was in 2006. Then the recent deaths of his friends and the divorce...that's a lot of heartbreak for a person to deal with.

I have always had a soft-spot for Lamar and am really hoping for a miracle. I know people love to hate on the Kardashians, and of course they love the limelight, but they seem to be a very close, supportive family unit, and I admire that. I am heartbroken for Khloe. I think she has the biggest heart of them all and it's evident that she loves Lamar very much. She tried for a very long time to help Lamar but at some point she finally realized that he has to want to help himself. I am sure this is her worst nightmare and it will kill her inside if he doesn't make it.
 
Not a fan of the Kardashians but Khloe tends to be the most relatable of the K clan IMO. I was rooting for her and Lamar to someday find their way back to one another. Lamar seems to be a guy who had a rough childhood and when he made it big and then married into the K family he seemed lost. All this notoriety and still this lost soul.
 
This is so sad.
I, too, have a soft spot for Lamar. He seems to have had to deal with so much.

Praying for him.
