This is just my opinion/theory
What if he was responsible for Lauren’s disappearance and realized he chose the wrong person bc of the attention it got. He could have then thought maybe I should take my next victim for ransom and try to get money from this
He did have ties to Indiana and a college town would be a good place I would think. I think I even read of a fire in martinsville shortly after her disappearance but I can’t find the article.
