This has been submitted for removal. There WAS a body found on Jones Beach in a suitcase (which is why I left it after reports of it being fake); however, (a few days later) it was determined to be UNRELATED, to the LISK case, it was a domestic abuse issue, then murder of a woman from the D.R. by her lomg term boyfriend, who is now in LE custody. My apologies for the confusion.

Biancavilla later said outside court that Bittrolff not only hated women, but all living creatures. He said Bittrolff, a hunter, had once wrestled a pig to the ground and slit its throat. He also once cut out the heart of a deer he had just shot and ate it raw in the woods, Biancavilla said.

He added that Bittrolff likely has killed other women, and said some aspects of the unsolved Gilgo Beach killings — in which 10 bodies, including those of several sex workers, were found in roadway brush and other places — were similar to the 20-year-old case. He did not elaborate.

Suffolk County Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers declined to address Biancavilla’s remarks.

has anyone read that last Wednesday night a suitcase was found at Jones Beach (which is miles away from Gilgo Beach). Inside the suitcase was a torso without a head or hands. Hardly getting any media coverage on Long Island.

"Director Liz Garbus, an Oscar-nominated documentarian, is making her narrative feature debut with the film. Producers Anne Carey and Kevin McCormick are collaborating on the project along with executive producers along with Amy Nauiokas, Rory Koslow.

Screenwriter Michael Werwie based the film on Robert Kolker’s book about the case, which is considered the largest unsolved homicide investigation in Suffolk history.

Ryan has previously starred in Gone Baby Gone. She will also appear in the upcoming Beautiful Boy and Late Night. Garbus is known for What Happened Miss Simone?

The film is expected to be a departure from A&E’s 2016 docu-series The Killing Season, by Joshua Zeman and Rachel Mills, that was the most recent major production on the case."

On a related note, this just broke today (10/23/2021) regarding phone technology they'll be using.

In Long Island serial killer investigation, new phone technology may be key to break in case

From the article:
Sini, a former federal prosecutor with a background in cold case investigations, has invested more than $300,000 in advanced technology to analyze old phone data in the case.

"Cell phone work is critical to solving this case," he said. "There is an incredible amount of data – we’re talking over five million data points. The human brain cannot analyze that data in any constructive way."

"We're trying to collect dots but then the key is to connect the dots, so we realized we had to invest in hardware and software to appropriately analyze that data," said Sini, who has assigned 23 people in his office to work on the investigation since taking office in early 2018.
