The two boys I'm speaking of are posed photos of boys about 12-14. One is an ethnic looking boy inside Alcala's apartment and the other is a boy posing on his bike. I don't count any of the photos that appear to be taken in a public setting, like the child.

Yup, same boys I was thinking of.
If we can't identify gender, it makes things so much harder. People thought the ethnic boy was at one point a girl, until they saw the non cropped photo. They thought he and the girl with the hat/makeup were the same person.
Why does it matter if they show a bit of boob- the red sweater girl has a full nipple showing through her sweater?
Makes no sense...absolutely none in these cases- maybe there's a boy whose face was identified as female- waiting in a John Doe folder that could someday be identified. LE could have been much more helpful when they dumped these photos in 2010.

No disagreement from me. I think his real victim count is probably way higher than estimated.

Some possibilities:

The photos not released may primarily be more disturbing images of people we have already seen.

The images released may have been the clearest, and thought to be the easiest to identify. I think Alcala was a mediocre photographer. And the film and/or prints may have been damaged in storage.

The obvious lack of "manpower"/priority to sit down and organize them, edit in a way that is not pornographic/highly disturbing. (especially now during the pandemic.) There is a good chance some may be deceased, in obvious pain, that kind of thing. I agree we have a lot of post-mortems online, but these could be really twisted and not released partly due to the nature of the situation the subjects were in vs something like blurring out nudity.

And I would love more to be released too. I find it hard not to wonder whenever I learn about someone missing during the time he was alive if he could have been connected. It is also a shame no one who knew him ever came forward with details. People must have known things.....

My money's on him being able to slip into and out of a persona that worked for him. My personal working theory is IF the girl from the club is Andrea Feldman, maybe there's a bigger story there to tell. Leee Childers had an interview on Pleasekillme.com the rest of that link is /stooges-bowie-leee-black-childers/. Had nothing to do with Andrea, other than she was this "little girl". It's an interesting read.
Leee died, but what he said on this interview about no one caring about people's ages rather fascinating and telling.
