A distressed 'lost' child's cries of 'Daddy' in Fairfield, Connecticut, turned out to be coming from a green parrot up in a tree.

A woman resident who raced to the rescue of the 'child' called animal control when she realized her mistake. Firefighters eventually caught him and reunited him with his owner, Christopher Gerbasi. Ironic really as it was fire trucks that frightened Ralphie the parrot into flying off in the first place, when he was sunning himself on the deck with his daddy.

When my ex- SO and I had an African grey. One of the first things I taught him was his name and address. We taught him to respond to several key words with the address like lost, home, where do you live. So glad the bird is back with his " daddy". Kudos to the woman who went to check it out.
