Madeleine McCann Missing Case - The family of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann has responded after claims that they may have destroyed vital evidence.
Kate and Gerry McCann have been accused of contaminating the crime scene as they searched their Algarve apartment for Madeleine.

Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa had said that more than 20 people had entered the apartment in Praia da Luz the night the child went missing. "At the very worst they would have destroyed all the evidence. This could prove to be fatal for the investigation."

Commenting on media reports that Portuguese police had criticised the McCanns for destroying vital evidence in the first hours after her abduction, Gerry McCann said today:



‘We want to establish exactly what has has been said and in what context before we comment further on these claims.



‘We will be talking to the Portuguese and the British police later today to that end.’

I think this is also a possibility. What if she awoke to find her parents gone, got out of bed, then opened the door. She could have had an accident as easily as she cuold have met with someone who abducted her. The "scene" IMO isn't necessarily the room.

Or the parents did it and this whole thing is just a cover up.

Who knows, all we are doing is rehashing everything that has been said previously, unless the media or LE release any new information we are no closer to knowing what happened to Madelaine than we were the day she went missing.
This is all speculation, but by throwing in what we all think could have happened is keeping many aware that Madelaine is still missing.

I have been praying- hard. Every morning I get up and check the news first thing, hoping against hope that something has broken in Portugal to bring Madeleine back. This poor darling baby didn't deserve this. I just don't understand it.

Let me try to explain that part a little bit better. I was saying that if she had been harmed and dumped by the road nearby that she would have been found already. I did not mean to say that was not harmed at all but rather that it was not a simple unorganized assault with an immediate unorganized dumping of the body at roadside nearby to where she was taken. If she had been dumped in such a disorganized way her body would probably have already been found.

If she was harmed but her body hidden in some more organized fashion that at least tells us something, a sort of profile, about what sort of person may have committed the crime.

At this point I do not yet have an opinion as to whether the little one was killed or kidnapped to be raised elsewhere. (Edited to ADD:. . . Or any other possibility.)

I think it is very possible that,alive or dead, she is within an hours drive of where she disappeared from.

Well, to be honest, its quite possible that there is NO KIDNAPPER and that the child left on her own accord, and met an accidental death. Or is that not of interest to you?

Actually in one of my posts I mentioned the possibility of her wandering off to an accidental death. All possibilities are of interest to anyone seeking the truth.

All the posters here would love to know the truth, but we dont, and as time goes by I dont think we will ever know the whole truth. I truly believe the LE are withholding information from the public until they have investigated every avenue, lead, witnesses and maybe then we will know what has happened to dear little Madelaine.
I still pray for her everyday and will continue to do so for as long as it takes.

Correio da Manhã (http://www.correiomanha.pt/noticia.asp?id=246927&idCanal=10) is reporting: that Policia Judiciária is following the lead given by Spanish “investigative journalist” Antonio Toscano, without mentioning any source. According to this daily newspaper, who quotes Mr. Toscano, he said that “he will send to Portuguese Police a list of persons that are connected with the alleged kidnapper of Madeleine, nicknamed 'El Francês' (The French)'. Mr Toscano said also he is “absolutely sure that the girl is alive and can be found”. Chief-Inspector Olegário de Sousa is quoted as saying just that the “information (from Mr. Toscano) is being evaluated”.

Actually The Frenchman is definately real (though not named other than the alias), it is Mr. Toscano that the PJ said was perpetrating a hoax.

Still no news of Madelaine. I hope they follow up on the lead provided by Mr Toscano even though many think its a hoax, sounds like it all they have to go by.

I cant find any link that is reporting Gerry back in the UK but I have seen that on another Forum, it has not been reported at all here from what I have seen:waitasec:

now that I do find interesting, especially if it co-incides with the fathers mystery trip back here, cant imagine why Paulo wants to know the distance between Manchester and Leicester? This is something I have in 'favorites', they are 'routeplanners' and will give the distance, I haven't got time to go to his site:-

Doing more checks on the place where Madelaine disappeared is imo a last ditch effort to regain some credibility, but is only making them look more stupid.
I dont understand how the distance between Manchester and Leicester has any bearing on the case.
The selling of the apartment by the owner sounds a bit off to me also, why would she want to lose money on the sale, and why would she want to sell in the first place, I know a little girl went missing from there, but it doesnt look like she was killed in the apartment or foul play came into it, so selling the apartment to me is quite odd. Maybe the owner of the apartment, who I assume would know the area quite well knows how things work at that resort and could maybe shine a bit of light on the disappearance of Madelaine, I know it sounds like a long shot, but what else have they to go on.
