When she saw a flier publicizing the case of a missing Tracy girl, her own harrowing escape from a kidnapper came flooding back for Midsi Sanchez.

Sanchez was 8 when she was kidnapped by a convicted pedophile and child killer on her way home from elementary school in Vallejo. She made national headlines when she got away after being chained in Curtis Dean Anderson's car for two days.

So when she heard about the case of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, missing since Friday night, she had to do something. On Monday the kidnap survivor, now 16, was out posting fliers around Vallejo.

Sanchez said she and some friends heard about the case when they were in Tracy last weekend for a car show. They abandoned those plans once they saw Cantu's face on a flier in a restaurant.

Mother Makes Tearful Plea; Two Questioned In Missing Girl Case

Late Monday, the Tracy police did confirm that a search of mobile homes at the park where Cantu disappeared from last Friday has turned up evidence, but said the child has still not been located.A neighbor tells KTVU he saw federal agents removing evidence from another neighbor's house and that the tow truck was preparing to remove that neighbor's vehicle.One parent, whose daughter is friends with Sandra and lives near the missing girl, told police she saw a suspicious black Jeep Cherokee in the neighborhood around the time Sandra disappeared.

His initials are BB not RB, the RSO. I wonder if there is a connection between BB and RB. RB does not have an up to date address on the registry that I found. Perhaps someone could check with Ancestry.com to see if there is any relation?

Police believe missing Tracy girl still alive

Police say they are confident that missing 8-year-old girl Sandra Cantu is still alive as they begin to search from 11th Street to Interstate 580 in Tracy.Investigators continue to sift through 150 tips and review surveillance video, and will search from 11th Street to Interstate 580 as the hunt for the missing girl enters its third day.

At a press conference that ended about 1:45 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Tony Sheneman said authorities are confident Sandra Cantu is still alive — because there's no evidence to the contrary.

Police have used bloodhounds and other search dogs in a widespread effort to find the Jacobson Elementary School second-grader, he said. And investigators are still viewing hours of surveillance video taken by merchants along West Clover Road, where the girl's home at the Orchard Estate Mobile Home Park sits. more at link: http://www.lodinews.com/articles/200...ing_090331.txt
