Abaroa's defense attorney asked for a continuance, telling the judge he had just, earlier in October, received more than 10,000 pages of scientific notes and reports from the SBI lab.

The defense attorney said he hadn't had enough time to read all of it, much less have scientific experts analyze it.

The assistant district attorney told the judge that Janet's family has been waiting more than seven years for justice in the case.

DURHAM —
A copy of a computer disc that purports to be from Raven Abaroa's computer could be introduced into evidence at his murder trial, a judge ruled Friday.
Abaroa, 33, appeared in Durham County Criminal Superior Court Friday morning for a pre-trial motion. He is scheduled to go on trial April 23 for first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Janet Marie Christiansen Abaroa, 25, on April 26, 2005.
Abaroa was not charged and arrested for the murder until Feb. 26, 2010. He was living in Idaho at the time. He is accused of stabbing her to death in their home on Ferrand Drive as their six-month-old baby, Kaiden, slept in another room.
