Circumstances: Last seen on 2/4/1980 at a bar in St. Ignace known then as the Homestead. At approximately 9:30 pm she got up from her table, said she would be right back and was never seen again. She left her cigarettes, purse and groceries inside her car in the parking lot.

wow. I never heard of this case. Granted I was five in 198o, but St Ignace isn't too far from where I grew up. Not to be critical of the UP, but we don't have a great track record of solving murders and missing person cases. So sad for her family and friends-to wonder and worry all these years what happened to her.
 
I know it's been decades and it's unlikely her case will be solved, but I think it deserves to be remembered.

Allen was last seen at The Homestead, a bar in St. Ignace, Michigan, on February 4, 1980. At 9:30 p.m. she left her table, saying she would be right back. She never returned and has never been heard from again.
Allen left her car behind in the bar's parking lot, with her cigarettes, groceries and purse inside it.

This article seems to indicate she had her purse (or a purse) with her. The case details indicate a/her purse was found in the car.

Maybe there was a purse she was carrying but another purse in her car?
 
Being she was in a snowmobile snowsuit I cant seem her walking very far. Wonder if she was married as it doesnt say anywhere. Maybe on a family ancestor site. Not much to go on.
