A 13-year-old who pled no contest to attempted rape will be sentenced as a juvenile.
The plea deal was brokered between Fathi Cullen's attorney and the judge in the case. Cullen was charged with entering a home in the River Haven mobile park and trying to rape a teenage girl.
Records show he's a repeat offender who's violated probation numerous times. In the plea deal, Cullen will be sent to a treatment facility in Iowa for about a year, then placed on probation when he returns to Michigan.
If he violates his probation, the judge could then send Cullen to adult prison.
