I would really love to see this case solved this year. Poor Janette. I can't help but wonder about her children and how they have coped. Janette's husband was cleared, moved the kids (and babysitter) to Georgia, married the babysitter, and started a fresh new life. But I just don't think the kids could have possibly escaped having some trauma. I do find it surprising that, now that they are grown, they are not involved in finding answers to the murder of their mother. I mean, at least pushing for for information or more investigation. It seems Janette's sister is keeping the case alive and everyone else would like to just move on. Imo, moo, etc.
Anyway, hoping this is your year, Janette.

I agree that there seems to be no sense of urgency to resolve this baffling murder. And the fact it was so tragic for the reasons you mentioned should get this out of the preverbal Cold Case basement files.

Bumping for Janette. The anniversary of her death is coming up soon. I've been rereading the Facebook page her sister keeps about the murder. It's all so frustrating. Reed City, MI police department didn't have a homicide department back then and so the case was investigated by the Michigan State Police. MSP has repeatedly refused to allow any outside help with the investigation. I just don't understand why.

DNA was collected from the crime scene; how does one go about requesting genetic genealogy work be done? I just don't see any reason why this hasn't been done yet.

There are so many genealogical databases through which the DNA could be run to find the family tree of Janette's murderer.

This is one of those cases I can't let go of. Poor Janette.
