'Baby Kate' Missing: Frantic Search for Michigan Infant Believed Kidnapped by Father

An intense search is underway in Michigan for Katherine Shelbie-Elizabeth Phillips, a baby girl missing since Wednesday afternoon.

Infant's mom: 'Time is running out'

The mother of missing 4-month-old Katherine Phillips is preparing for the worst news, but hoping her daughter is still alive.

"Time is really running out," Ariel Courtland told 24 Hour News 8. "I feel in my heart she's outside somewhere. I'm hoping (she's alive.) I don't really want to think that she's not, but I'm trying to prepare myself for the fact that she is (not alive.)"

This is our local newspaper. Some of the articles there have pictures of Sean Phillip, as do some of the other articles posted upthread. The homepage (as of today) is also cycling through several pictures of Sean and baby Katherine.

Baby Kathryn is such a beautiful little one. I am scared for her family. I have a hard time following the crimes against these sweet sweet children. It goes to a place I can't shake emotionally. Please Lord comfort the family and bring the child home safe and well.
I would think that someone could reach the father and make him crack-tell where baby is!

After arrest of 21-year-old man on kidnapping charge, question still remains: Where's Kate?

Just days ago, April Lange was marveling at how well her 4-month-old granddaughter, whom she calls "Katerbugger," was rolling over.

On Thursday, the Scottville woman sat at a police press conference, crying quietly as Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola said the man accused of kidnapping little Katherine Shelbie-Elizabeth Phillips wasn't giving any clues to the baby's whereabouts.

"My first theory was this dumb-*** dropped her off in the woods somewhere between (Courtland's home) and his house and figured he'd go home and come back and get her, but then the cops took him into custody and she was stuck out in the woods all night," she said. "Four months old, she can't even swat a **** mosquito off her."
