Search for missing woman, car found abandoned in Flint

Police say LaQuandra Slater, known to friends and family as 'Shay V', went missing on Dec. 2.

Her car was found abandoned in Flint near Atherton and Van Slyke roads.

Police are trying to figure out if Slater's disappearance is somehow connected to another missing man from the area, Michael Stringer.

Still seems to be speculation that LaQuandra's disappearance is related to that of Michael Stringer. I can't find any MSM for MS. However based on FB chatter he appears to still be missing as well. I found his FB. However I can't find MSM confirmation that he is still missing so I'm not posting it. If you search for it yourself, beware...there are some very graphic posts on MS's FB page.

While I hope they are both found safe, I can't help but feel something bad has happened. I will continue to search for updates.

FLINT, MI -- LaToya Brown knows her cousin wouldn't just stop reaching out to the family.

The fun-loving 38-year-old Laquandra Shavonne Slater enjoyed spending time with relatives and socializing too much not to come to their homes for a visit or stop at her father's house for his birthday or holidays.
But in late November 2016, all communication with Slater stopped after she was in contact with a friend Slater doesn't know and the worrying set in. A police report was filed with Flint Township police, but there hasn't been much new in her case.
"Somebody had to do something to her, take her somewhere," said Brown, wiping away tears away with the side of a finger, during an ID the Missing event Thursday, Feb. 15 at Berston Field House on Flint's north side.

Michael Stringer was found deceased in April 2017

"In the trunk of that vehicle was Michael Stringer's body," said Mt. Morris Township Police Chief Terence Green.Using DNA evidence from the scene collected before the house burned, they were able to know for sure that Stringer died inside of the home on Downey Street.
Forensics also led them to two suspects that police had already been keeping an eye on.
That's when Green says they hit another road block - Leonardo Johnson Jr. and Damarius Green were on the run, but not together.
One was in Atlanta and the other in Phoenix.
It took a coordinated effort with FBI, even swat teams in both cities to make the arrests. Green says they wanted to get them both in cuffs simultaneously.
Johnson was arrested at an apartment Tuesday night in Phoenix. Hours later, Damarius Green was taken into custody at a home in Atlanta.

Details of Disappearance​

Slater was last seen in Flint Township, Michigan on December 2, 2016. She has never been heard from again. After her disappearance, her vehicle was found abandoned in the vicinity of Atherton Road and Van Slyke Road in Flint.

It's uncharacteristic of Slater to leave without warning; she enjoyed visiting her family, and would go to her father's house for his birthday and on holidays. All communication with her stopped in late November 2016. The circumstances of her disappearance are unclear.
