I don't understand why the cop didn't question Kevin at all. That's something that should have been done, and even if he was there to help escort the Wetterlings to the scene, I think they'd understand why they had this WITNESS along for the ride.

Scratching my head. :/

Since something like this never happened before and St Joseph is a tiny tiny safe place where people did not even lock their doors, I am sure no one initially realized that this was anything but some silly weird thing.

Who knew. When my friend called me at work in the am, I pictured Ransom of Red Chief, the story of the child who was so obnoxious he was let go

It's very sad. :( I'm sure everyone realizes, after Jacob was taken, that kids were being molested, and assaulted.....and probably for a very long time; at least according to news about the Abby.
Too bad everything was kept so secret with the Abby, and parents weren't aware of the dangers their children were in during the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Maybe Jacob would be here now.

When you write Abby, I see," Ask Abby".

We do not know if the Abbey had anything to do with it. But they certainly are filled with hellish secrets.

No one has ever answered the question if DR was an altar boy.

So this is the mysterious "medical cop"? Was he really a different sort of cop? Or why did Kevin describe him that way?

No, the man who told Kevin he was a "medical cop" was someone he spoke to inside the Tom Thumb store. The "new" cop outside in his car waiting for Wetterlings is a different person.

Ok....Abbey. How does anyone ever wrap their heads around this?

The Abbey, and how these monsters are never put behind bars, and away from kids.

It's a travesty. On the other hand, this is Jacobs case, and Patty Wetterling has discounted the abbey. Keep talking about DR and Kevin until it's cleared up.

What do you think of this possibility? This man was mentioned in an article in our paper today. I hadn't heard his name before - he was convicted of kidnapping and raping strangers back in 1989 in Stearns and Benton Counties. Picture him with a hat...

He was mentioned in this article:
Sex offender ruling won't have immediate local effect

Just a few months before a federal judge declared Minnesota's sex offender program unconstitutional, a sex offender facing commitment in Benton County argued just that.

Kerry Lenz, 56, was convicted of kidnapping and raping two strangers two weeks apart in 1989 in Benton and Stearns counties. The petition seeking to commit him included details of several other sexual offenses he committed, some of which led to criminal convictions in North Dakota.

Lenz's attorney argued that the state statute that allows for civil commitment was unconstitutional as it pertains to Lenz's case. A Benton County judge disagreed and in April committed Lenz to the program that last week was ruled unconstitutional by U.S. District Court Judge Donovan Frank.

I think he's a possibility. What kind of car did he have? Did he own a gun in his name? Please forward this article, explaining it's possible relation to Jacob, to the St Cloud Police Department.

It looks like he was assaulting adult women. Would he go after little boys?

That is from the last link in your post, it just says strangers, so not children anyway...

It's bizarre how many "violent sexual psychopaths" were running around back in 1989. There must be a lot we don't even know about at Moose Lake. I'm glad they're not letting them all out right away. I can see modifying the program so some who have completed rehab can move to a less restrictive program, but I really don't think they should be out running free either.

Looks good. Did LE look at him because it seems they were looking at all possibilities. Did Jared see this guy?

Ha ha. None of them complete rehab. They are the most manipulative lying but compliant criminals of all. They have done such horrendous crimes that they should simply fry or be LWOP. Why treatment? Why? They are liars to the max!

Their victims should get free lifetime treatment. And for every license plate they make ( if they do), money should go to the victim.
