Found Deceased MO - Celia Gonzales, 26, Kansas City, 18 Sept 2007

Thanks, Busylady!!! What a sad case. The way the article read...family wasn't mentioned at all. At least her friends contacted authorities to report her missing. They obviously know more than the article mentions so hopefully they can point to her killer.

Here you go, Indy:

Gonzales was reported missing on Sept. 18 by her friends. Friends told detectives to go to the victim's home in the 300 block of Barat Street. Detectives said they obtained a search warrant and turned up evidence that someone had been hurt at the home.

Those friends told police she was last seen at her home in the 300 block of Barat Avenue.

Detectives searched her home and verified that someone had been injured there, but they were still looking for her when authorities determined that the remains found in Belton belonged to her, according to the news release.

Also this is for SS My only comment is yeah right show me....
Kara Kopetsky, a 17-year-old Belton girl who was last seen at Belton High School on May 4.

Her disappearance has been well-publicized. Her family has been outspoken about their efforts to find her, and a Web site has been established.

Sorry didnt mean to confuse threads. I will post this at Karas too!

I can't find any follow-up to Celia's case. Was someone eventually charged with her murder?

This is from 2007:

KCPD identifies remains found in Belton: Who killed Celia Gonzales?

The Jackson County Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time. Detectives are following up on leads and ask that anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

This forum has her listed as well but I don't think the site has been updated in awhile
