I like the teeth matchup. Brilliant work from all...hoping this one turns out as a match.

Promising news.

I'm hoping that means they got a sample. Just checked my email history with Nance, I contacted him May 28th and just now. I'm totally disgusted by the actions of some of the case workers lately. Very unprofessional especially when I do so much

I am a high school friend of Arrilla Webb-Vaul's and posted information I had on her a while back.
This is the time of year I think about her for obvious reasons. I am very interested in the DNA testing and very happy to see that she is still looked for.
I found another photo of her that might be of use, attaching it here. Maybe it will of use if you don't already have it.

Sent this to Nance too

I talked to Helen at LSU this morning by telephone. She says that they have been unable to locate identifiers of any kind for Arrilla Webb-Vaul. There was supposed to be a "clump of hair" that belonged to her, but when they located it, there was only a single strand, and they were unable to extract any DNA from it.

Furthermore, as far as I can tell, she has no children, no siblings, and her parents are likely deceased. I found a woman listed in Ancestry who might be her maternal aunt, but she is likely deceased too. The best that we can probably hope for is to locate any descendants of that maternal aunt, who would be able to provide a mtDNA-compatible FRS.

Here is an article about the efforts of the State of Mississsippi to identify several long-term UID cases.

It's interesting that Kristi Johnson's computer monitor is visible on her desk, showing a side-by-side of Arrilla Webb-Vaul and the Biloxi Jane Doe. So obviously, they are interested in this possible match.

Hopefully they can find a way to compare them.

I'm assuming you turned Arrilla in back when you originally posted? Maybe start making phone calls to follow up?

I have the same conditions as this woman- pectus carinatum (pigeon chested) and kyphosis. My spine deformity is pretty obvious, but it's extremely hard to tell with my chest. It just makes it look like my chest is a bit broader than usual. It's pretty hard to distinguish for a lot of women with the condition, so I doubt people who knew her would immediately notice.

The teeth seem a very close match between this unidentified woman and Arrilla Webb - Vaul.

Before DNA matching was even known, a method of identification was to overlay skull x-rays with photographs to see how closely they matched. Has this been done by medical experts in Mississippi?

Also, a way to positively identify people is through dental records. Are there any dental records available for Arrilla?

Now that DNA has become prevalent, medical examiners seem to be reluctant to use anything else. I've even seen one (local to me) case where the ME wouldn't make the identification until DNA confirmed a fingerprint match.

Id take the Armenian, Greek, North Italian with a big grain of salt. Sounds like a Gedmatch Oracle estimate done by someone who is not terribly familiar with how the calculators work. I have Italian/Greek show up a lot in my results and I have nobody Italian or Greek in my tree. It just shows a certain Mediterranean genetic influx at some point in my DNA but it does not mean I am ethnically Greek or Armenian.

Is there any source where the results come from? LE did not officially release anything, right?

Could she be Brenda Sue Davidson? Namus lists Doe as 5'2 estimated, but in the text below it says "5'2"-5'5"

Original

Brenda Sue Davidson
Age: 13
Disappeared: 1974
Height: 5'5'' to 5'7''
She may or may not have ran away from home. According to her parents, she stole 100 bucks from her dad one day and never returned from school. A sibling claims that later on the stories the parents told conflicted with each other and there is some suspicion that her father was abusing her.

Or perhaps: Lisa Renee Wilson
Original

Age: 14
Went missing in: 1974
Height: 5'2''
I am just looking at her teeth and noticing that from what little I can gleam, her two front teeth appear to be different length? One may be chipped like Jane Doe's. Followed by a shorter rounded tooth on the left side (our right) and a longer more pointed one, similar to Doe.

Lisa's Charley page, with lots of information about her disappearance including info she might have gone to Houston: Lisa Renee Wilson – The Charley Project

Jane Doe's Doenetwork page indicates her back/chest issues might not have been visible in life.

Map: the shopping center where the girls were last seen, to Biloxi where the UID was found, via Houston: Google Maps

The reconstruction shows Jane's eyes as blue, but the color isn't known. Also the two pictures aren't quite to scale.
