Here's a strange case of a man, Jack Fisher, who disappeared in 1994. His last know location was Long Beach, MS. There are no vital statistics listed for him, but he was probably in his 30's. He was originally from Dunedin, FL but moved to Long Beach for a job manufacturing mobile homes.
On January 6, 1990, Jack's brother Richard was supposed to be sentenced in Pinellas County, FL for sexually abusing a minor. He absconded, and in 1991 LE searched Jack's house in Long Beach, MS but Richard wasn't there.
In 1994, Jack went missing from Long Beach. He'd told his parents he would be leaving Mississippi for Missouri to help flood victims, but no one knows if he did leave.
At some point, Richard returned to Florida and used Jack's SS number to obtain a driver's license. While on the lam, he worked and raised three children. He settled in Ocala, FL and later moved to Dunedin, FL in Pinellas County where he was wanted for the 1988 crime. In 2005, LE received an anonymous tip, and Richard Fisher was arrested and is now serving a 35 year sentence.
After Jack was reported missing, LE investigated Richard's possible involvement and determined he was not a suspect. Richard was 46 in 2005, so at the time of Jack's disappearance he would've been about 35. Richard likely would've been around the same age, and looking at his photo, I'd say he was older tha 35.
Here's a map that shows the distance between Long Beach, MS and the Gulfport location where the remains were found the other day. This is probably a long shot, but it's an interesting case, and based on the few details we have about the remains so far, it's a possibility.

Jack Fisher went missing in Mississippi in 1994 and has never been found.
He vanished while working in the mobile home business in Mississippi. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran. In late July 1994, Jack told his parents he was heading out of state, perhaps to Missouri, to help victims of a flood. The family filed a missing persons report in Mississippi, but Jack has never been heard from again.
Jack previously lived in Dundedin, Florida.
His brother, a fugitive, assumed his Jack's identity while on the run. He was arrested in 2006 and is not considered a suspect in Jack's disappearance.
