MS MS - Madeline Ponds, 17, Columbus, 20 Nov 1986

Listed age of unidentified woman is between 30-40, whereas Madeline would have been 19. idk if they would actually be that far off in age. I think that was a sharp eye tho on your part because she DOES look like her otherwise

There is a Jane Doe listed on missing kids.org that was found in Sardis MS. This is just a little over two hours away from Columbus, MS. Jane doe was found basically right beside Sardis lake in a remote wooded area. Sardis has a state park, camping areas, and a fishing marina. There are multiple boat landings in remote areas spanning two counties at least. Basically it has a lot of remote, wooded areas. The image rendition looks nothing like Madeline ponds but they also don’t know what color her eyes or hair were and the description even says that the artist used his imagination on the jaw as it wasn’t found. The remains had been there for a long time and the girl is between 15-30 years old. What caught my eye was the gold necklace. It was found near the body along with an unidentifiable clothing item and a car jack. They aren’t 100% sure they are tied to the body but Madeline is wearing a necklace in two pictures that looks eerily similar to this rendering of the necklace found with Jane doe. Surely they have ran the dna but I can’t shake the fact that this might be the missing teenager from Columbus. That necklace is obviously something she wore a lot and it’s so similar to the one found near the Jane doe.

Here is the rendition of Jane doe. If you changed the hair/eye color, I actually think it would look like Midge (madelines preferred moniker). The gold necklace is shown below jane does info and looks just like the one midge is wearing in two out of the three pictures available of her.

I also did an edit of the rendering. I only changed her jawline, skin color, eye color, hair color and added some makeup.

Welcome to WebSleuths, haileyrhea, you've obviously done a lot of work here, and it certainly looks interesting. This (the Unidentified) is not 'my area' but there are many here that know how to c0ntinue with what you've come up with.

Happy Birthday to Madeline! I submitted a tip and reached out to someone who knows what to do with that type of information. Sure would be nice for her to spend her next birthday properly laid to rest. Thanks for letting me know!

This case is the typical North American case in convenience stores...at gunpoint they are kidnapped and murdered...a young girl taken against her will...perhaps she was taken somewhere nearby and murdered...there would have been to find out if the sector has remote areas or forests to leave a body...
either way
rest in peace
