Perth GP’s disappearance a mystery as family learn she was never hiking on Bibbulmun Track

She told family and friends she was getting a lift to start the hike at Mundaring Weir and since she was reported missing in March this year, police have focused their investigation on the track, even saying she had been sighted in a south west town shopping for supplies.
But now that information appears to be incorrect and her son Ramon Casal, who reported his mother missing three months after she left her home, does not believe she ever went hiking at all.
“The Bibbulmun Track investigation has turned up nothing,” he said.
“There’s no evidence that she ever started hiking on the track either with or without a group.”
Ramon describes his mother telling people she was going hiking when she wasn’t as a “white lie” and says she was a secretive person who preferred to remain private.
It wasn’t until after police started investigating her disappearance last month that Ramon and his brother discovered their mother had been diagnosed with a serious illness.
He now thinks it may have been a catalyst for her disappearance.
