NBC Dateline: Missing Mickey 29 Jan 2013

The following BBM request by BSL is concerning. Seems that investigators would release other probable victims's names to the public. This proactive move may produce tips or evidence to close the deal on other victims, imo.
Imo, investigators have received forensics results from the items found in the search of BSL's resident. Imo, these results have pointed to other probable victims of BSL. These victims and their families need closure and justice...

Lavergne Requests Gag Order, Investigation into Mail Tampering
01/31/2013 03:30 PM by Ian Auzenne

Also in the filings, Lavergne requested several other documents.
They include:
--The documents missing from the aforementioned legal mail sent to him.
--April 2008 grand jury transcripts pertaining to the Lisa Pate case
--Copies of his conviction and sentence,
--The list of witnesses who testified in the Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate
--Sentencing transcripts and pre-trial motions made by his court-appointed attorneys.

--The warrant allowing his ex-wife to record audio during a prison visit in 2005

Hmm does he have the right to ask for a gag order on these things since he's already convicted?

I don't think they really even touched enough on how dangerous of a man he is.

Every picture of him shown was of him smiling and/or at a football game or hunting, like basically every other guy in Louisiana.

There were no mugshots of his emotionless face, Lisa Pate's name wasn't even brought up, it was almost as if someone watching may have assumed based on what was said, that his other victim was an escort. There was no talk about his rape, about his domestic abuse charges, about all of the womens things found, or any of that.

I totally agree with dedicating the show to be more focused on Mickey.
However, i think he was portrayed 1/10th of the sick person that we have looked into him being.

Respectfully snipped for relevance

All IMO, I considered the same thing but decided perhaps the people involved in producing this NightLine episode decided to show that someone who comes across as "normal" can be anything but! A message to pay extra attention to and be extra cautious around people who send little (or large) red flags up as our gut instincts are usually right! For example, BSL's fiancee's father sensed something wasn't right about BSL and told the authorities! (Their first solid lead in the case.)

I take it, he doesn't like his new digs!

Maybe he should have kept his gun and his knife at home. In fact, he should have kept himself at home instead of trolling the streets for innocent victims!
IMO

Did they even mention he was a RSO though???

Yes they mentioned it. They also showed his lisc without it being blocked out.

Missing Mickey, Part 1 of 6 total..

21-year-old Mickey Shunick mysteriously vanishes late one night and without a trace. Dateline NBC's Josh Mankiewicz reports.

Thank you so much for posting this! I recorded this on my DVR last week but had been hesitating to watch it because I knew a flood of emotions would come back as soon as I turned it on. . .

I finally got the courage to watch it yesterday and was a mess for the entire first 15 minutes . . . and then "SEVERE WEATHER NEWS COVERAGE" :raincloud: in my area interrupted the entire rest of the program!

UGH! :banghead:

So thanks again for the link! :gthanks:

Wanted to add:

It’s good to know that Mickey’s legacy is living on as a tribute to her beautiful heart, bright soul and courageous spirit and as a message to people everywhere that Good Does Triumph over Evil!

I, too, would have liked to see a second part dedicated to Lisa Pate. I must say though, that Mickey Shunick, helped to clear my brother's name (KA) in relation to Lisa Pate's murder. Once BSL was caught, he admitted that her tried to frame him (KA).

IMO, there is a lot more to the Lisa Pate story that needs to be resolved. I hope and pray that the cops dig further to get to the TRUTH!

May both those beautiful girls RIP.

I am a family member of Lisa. have avoided media, but realize Lisa's story should be corrected of many errors. someday soon. please reply.

What kind of errors?

I've seen two new (to me) photos of a Lisa on the Investigation Discovery's "Southern Fried Homicide: Lafayette's Little Sisters".

I'm glad we are getting a little more of Lisa's story. She deserves to have her story told.

But the way ID is wording this for drama is annoying me.
