Jacqueline Landreth Obituary - (1982 - 2021) - Clarkton, NC - Fayetteville Observer (legacy.com)

Jacqueline "Lynn" Landreth
1982 - 2021

Clarkton—Jacqueline "Lynn" Elaine Landreth, 38, of Clarkton passed away on February 24, 2021. ...

Lynn was a boot wearing, country loving kind of girl. Fishing, old Chevy trucks and hanging with her family and friends were just a few of the things she enjoyed. She also loved to sing and get all dressed up but was not afraid of a little mud either. A jack of all trades, Lynn loved using her hands whether with tools or doing crafts. She could do anything she put her mind to. Her personality was contagious, she adored everyone, especially her children and they adored her. Her memory will be cherished by all that love her.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the White Plains Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Council ...

**********
Rest in peace, Lynn.

Noting:
  • Jacqueline’s body was found after searching a dirt road and a detective saw a black shoe sticking out of a ditch.
  • The detective went through her phone records, and noticed Timothy Cain had contacted her the last day her family knew her to be alive.
  • They got search warrants for four properties (addresses in the article).
  • And two vehicles: Cain’s black 2013 Hyundai Equus and Landreth’s white GMC Sierra
  • All properties and vehicles were linked to Cain, according to the warrants.
  • While searching those locations, detectives found guns, ammunition, blood, blonde hair, and other evidence.
  • Cain tried to sell the firearms he allegedly stole from Landreth.
  • Cain also tried to sell Landreth’s white GMC and brought a potential buyer to where he was storing the vehicle.
  • The potential buyer noticed it looked similar to Landreth’s car. When he asked why it looked similar to the missing woman in Bladen County’s car, Cain reportedly replied, “Never mind.”
  • Cain was arrested and charged with first degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon February 25.
  • LE believes Cain and co-conspirator Jamaal Green, robbed Landreth at gunpoint, taking her phone, money, weapons, and car, then shooting her.
  • Amanda Williams has also been charged as an accomplice. She is accused of transporting the suspects to a safe place and storing evidence.
  • According to the search warrants, detectives found bags of bloody clothes in William’s bedroom while searching for evidence.

On February 26, Det. Rockenback arrested Cain and took him to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office for an interview. “Mr. Cain was read his Miranda Warning Rights and informed me that he was willing to talk and waived to having a lawyer present,” the search warrant reads. “Mr. Cain stated that he had used and drove his Hyundai car during and after the homicide of Ms. Jacqueline Landreth. Mr. Cain stated that he and his co-conspiritor, Jamaal Green, had put several weapons from the victim’s truck into his car and used his vehicle to drive away from the scene of the crime.”

Detectives say Mr. Cain told them he had taken and AK-47 and other handguns from Jacqueline Landreth, and given the weapons to someone else to hold for him.

On Feb. 25, Mr. Cain’s cellphone was located abandoned on the side of the James B White Hwy North in Whiteville. Detectives say there were pictures of firearms on the cell phone, “believed to be the firearms taken from the victim’s vehicle after the homicide occurred.”

She met him for something. And if it wasn't to sell weapons, it's hard to say why she would arrive with an arsenal when she would really only need one weapon for her self protection. MOO
