There is no indication that Sadek was suicidal.

Authorities and school officials plan to regroup Monday morning to determine next efforts.

He's believed to have had a black and silver backpack.

Two pilots also conducted an aerial search, covering an area five miles south of Wahpeton to five miles north of town.

The ground searches focused on public property in Wahpeton-Breckenridge and surrounding areas. People in the area are asked to check their property, including outbuildings, for any anything unusual.

Sadek was last seen by a security camera leaving his dormitory, Nordgaard Hall. It isn’t known whether he continued on foot or got into a car. Nothing seemed unusual about Sadek before his disappearance, said Harvey Link, NDSCS vice president for academic and student affairs. “We have no indication that he was troubled or unduly stressed or anything like that,” Link said.

Sadek has a cell phone, but the last activity was on campus, Helgeson said. There has been no activity on his checking account or credit cards, he said.

My first reaction is why he is bundled up so much being May 1st.
This weather archive explains that. Brrrr....
http://www.wunderground.com/history...peton&req_state=ND&req_statename=North+Dakota

Temperature at 2:10am on the 1st was 37 but with 16 mph winds the windchill was 28. Did he have his car keys with him? Was he heading to his car? Not the type of weather to take a walk unless he was going to another dorm. Can you enter other dorms at 2 am? So many questions and so little answers.

He looks so different in surveillance photo from the smiling pictures we have seen of him. Granted he has a hoody on, but his head is down and he looks sad to me.

Two quick questions are running through my mind:
Who reported him missing?
Are his parents on site...or making any statements?

If he was intoxicated, I doubt he would take the time to pack a backpack.
Also, how likely is it that a student would be intoxicated on a Thursday night.

It looks to me like he might be headed out to meet someone?
His backpack seems a bit heavy....its top is hanging low. Could he have been going to meet someone to study? Doubtful.
But to meet someone? Possible.

Very good observations, shefner. I don't think he looks intoxicated. Not only did he take the time to pack a backpack but he also dressed appropriately for the weather. The meeting someone...what was in his backpack could be very telling. Did he have a roommate that was home and saw him leave?

News reports state his roommates reported him missing at 3pm on Friday.
"Please come home," said his visibly emotional father, John Sadek. The Rogers, N.D.-area farming family needs the 20-year-old's help with spring calving, he said.
Through tears, Tammy Sadek thanked the students and volunteer searchers for their help in looking for Andrew

I wonder if he packed because his plan was to go away on some sort of sabbatical..? Sadly when I was in college, I went missing as well. I was gone for a day and I didn't tell anyone because I was having just a bad week. I'm hoping this case is no different. But what I learned from that experience is that it was selfish of me not to tell anyone because those are the same people that cared enough to call the police. All I had to do is make one very quick phone call telling them that I was going out of town to a motel to get away. Lesson learned.

Yea, with your observations, I agree that he may just have went away for a little while. Probably camping out with his friends or hanging out somewhere, crashing at a friends house. I hope he checks in soon. Everyone's worried sick..

Final exams are May 13-16. Dorms close 5/16.
I hope they've checked his phone records to see if he had any calls Thurs night.

'Please come home,' parents of missing Wahpeton college student plead -

Through tears, Tammy Sadek thanked the students and volunteer searchers for their help in looking for Andrew, who was last seen shortly before walking out of his North Dakota State College of Science dorm, Norgaard Hall, at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
She cautioned them not to undertake their own search efforts without the direction of law enforcement.

I think it's ok to post it Plumy. It's public information. :)
