I think the baby is at high risk of ending up dead, left in this person's custody.
Here's the thing: The prosecution, who I heard on JVM, really wanted the boyfriend, I guess. So they cut a deal with the poor, sweet mother who had been misled by him. (Sarcasm intended). I don't get it. They didn't need her help. He was on probation for something else and firearms (stolen?) were found in the house. Why did they need her help?
The prosecution was trying to justify the deal they gave the mother. It's unjustifiable to me. I have known many young mothers, teen moms. Their youth did not make them love their kids any less.
This hideous person laughed about torturing an innocent baby - her own little boy. I don't care that she was high! Being drunk or stoned does not make a person do things that are not already in their heart. I cannot stand to see any person or animal suffer. Being high would not change that.
But this monster enjoyed hurting the one person she should have been protecting. That pretty much seals the deal for me. She is a dangerous person and a sadistic child abuser.
I am outraged by the sentence both were given and more importantly, that she has any contact with her child at this time. He should have been put on the fast track for adoption. It's sickening. In fact, I think she is more culpable. We hear of too many women sacrificing their babies to abusers, and/or joining in on the "fun" for a chance to snag a "man". They should have the same sentences as the men they allowed to hurt their babies. Or stronger ones. That would send the message that our society will not tolerate women giving creeps free rein to molest, beat, torture and kill their kids. For now, mothers are being told that anything goes, when it comes to their children, in their quest to get a guy.
Finally, it angers me more than I can say that this momster, or the prosecutor or anyone else can blame her fun and games on being high, or being young and under the influence of her creepy boyfriend. Because as I said before, this evil woman had those photos on her phone days later, showed them to a friend and still thought it was funny.
I really hope that social services takes another look at this case and removes the baby from her presence. Otherwise, I have grave doubts that the little boy will live to see adulthood in one piece.
