Mother's body was found late last night near 4th & Cedar (Near botanical gardens). No update on what happened to her. 10th and Martha (Daycare) is the last place the 5 yo was seen, and his mother picked him up at 4pm. 11 mo found in dumpster, yesterday, in La Vista. An hour ago search and rescue with police helicopter were making sweeps over the area of 4th and Cedar...per a resident in that area.

The day care where the 5 year old was picked up by his mother and the Lauritzen Gardens where she was later found deceased is very close to one another.

A couple was out for a walk around 7p, and found the body of the Mother in a ditch just north of Lauritzen Gardens.

The father of the two children, Jose Ramirez, along with several family members, were questioned by police Thursday morning. Authorities have not identified any suspects at this time.

Wow, I just read about this and did not realize it had to do with the baby they found alive in the dumpster. This is crazy. poor kids.

The toddler, who was eventually identified as 11-month-old Angel Ramirez-Marinero, was discovered near 86th Street and Park View Boulevard around 6 p.m. I'm trying to figure out where this location is in relation to all the other key locations....off to check mapquest, as it's been a while since I've been to O.

Niece of Woman Found Dead Speaks Out

WOWT 6 News spoke with Veronica Rose, the niece of Marinero earlier this morning. In a phone interview, Rose tells us more about the search for Jesus Marinero after nobody could find her. You can hear a portion of the interview in the audio player on the right.

Niece: "Somebody Wanted to Hurt Her"

No one was home when a fire broke out at a home near 18th and Center on April 22nd. According to reports, the home had been broken into several times before the fire.

That home near 18th and Center belonged to 45-year-old Jesus Marinero. Family members tell us Marinero was found dead this morning.

Thank you for that link Joe Friday. The phone interview was very interesting. If true, recent events sound very personal and not at all random. I am worried about little Josue but hopeful since his sibling seems to have been left somewhere alive (albeit in a dumpster).

Jose was last seen on May 7, 2015. He may be in the company of an adult. They may be traveling in a silver 2000 Jeep Cherokee with Nebraska license plate SRH941. Jose was last known to be wearing a gray shirt and gray sweatpants.

I wonder if the vehicle description is that of mom or another individual. So far I have heard nothing about mom's vehicle make or if that vehicle is unaccounted for.

The Homicide Unit is looking into the possibility of a connection between this murder victim and Jesus I. Marinero. In addition, the autopsy began today, at 8:30 a.m., and it is hoped that a positive identification can be made after it is completed. However, the Omaha Police Department is investigating this homicide with the premise that the body is that of Ms. Marinero. Although, identification has not been positively confirmed.

I think mom left the little one in the dumpster in an attempt to spare the little boys life, hoping or knowing he would be found shortly by someone throwing away their trash.

Since the 5 year wasn't found deceased along with his mother we can only hope he will be found safe.
