The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Circumstances of Recovery: On 10/31/1961, an unidentified male was found inside of a train car in North Platte, Nebraska under 2500 pounds of ice. The train originated from Roseville, California in early October of 1961. No identification was found on this man and he was later buried in Lincoln County, Nebraska.
 
This seems like an excellent one for DNA resolution- no other way to solve really.

Investigative genetic genealogists with the DNA Doe Project have found that Lincoln County Rail Car John Doe has ancestors from St. Landry Parish in Louisiana, while he also has links to the Houston and Beaumont areas of Texas.
