Nelson Mandela has passed away

95 is a good run. Remembering the atrocity of Apartheid it was so good to see him freed and know he had a life after prison.

Condolences to those who loved him.

Not sure we need to indict all Rhodes Scholars. Call me crazy, but I'd focus my attention on the governments and trade partners that supported and enabled his regime before I blamed 22 year old kids who happen to get a scholarship.

Yeah well............

South Africa and diamonds, you know. :blushing:

I'll start here:

Please lets not turn this into anything but a place to say good bye to an amazing hero. A warrior and a kind soul.

Rest now, magnificent heart. Rest now, bringer of change. Rest now, advocate. Rest now, forgiving soul.

Thank you. The world will never be the same, both because of your life, and because you are no longer here.

Safe travels on your transition.

Best-
Herdig Cats

Nelson Mandela was banned from pursuing any democratic route to change the apartheid system before he resorted to violence. I think if Americans were banned from voting and banned from any peaceful protests there would be plenty of them willing to take up arms against the government.

After his release from prison he campaigned only for peaceful democratic change.

It would be quite something for your life to draw to an end at 95 years of age and know that you have changed the whole world for good.

Rest in Peace.
