This all sounds very dubious to me.
Me too.
But if it is true, a complicating factor could be that the ponds behind the coliseum appear to be aeration lagoons, which treat water by letting all the solids in the water settle out to the bottom of the pond. Eventually the sludge builds up on the bottom of the pond, so the pond is drained, and the sludge removed and carted somewhere else. It may not be a frequent thing, it usually takes many years, even decades, for enough sludge to build up in the bottom of the pond. So a key factor in determining whether a body was in the pond or not would be knowing when the bottom of the pond was last removed and where the sludge from the bottom was sent.
Also, the bottom of these ponds don't have much oxygen when they are filled with water so a body might decay very slowly if it is at the bottom of one.
Great information..thank you. I have been googling and searching what exactly those ponds are. I see on the satellite image that the gates to the pond are wide open, just an observation. I wonder if there has been any cut gate locks or broken fences that have had to be repaired.
Could divers go into this pond and look????
Me too.

Thanks for the info.At the ponds in our City, this is done annually. The liquids are pumped to the ponds and through evaporation, the liquid turns to solids. In early fall the ponds are cleaned and the sludge is brought to the landfill. We use it to as a vegetative soil amendment, for the new slopes built the previous year.
The process involves dumping the sludge in rows in our soil borrow pit area. We then rip through it with our tractor into the native soil below it. It is then loaded into trucks and dumped near the edge of the slopes. The tractor then spreads it roughly 6" thick.
Sorry, I have explained this process to schools and community groups, lol. My point in saying this; chances are, at some point during this process bones would be visible. Not saying for sure, but with all the moving of the sludge, something white would be eye catching.
ETA-Decomp would occur more rapidly, not slowly.
if the woman was expecting "a shorter sentence", then why did she send her confession to her family rather than just telling LE. Possibly, she was just trying to create drama and didn't realize letter would be turned over to LE? LE got letter and offered her shorter sentence to tell more? Your thoughts?
She spoke to the FBI first, according to the KTAB video.
I feel this person might be out there somewhat too, but I also feel that she must have some pretty good information if LE has allowed the news media to release this information. If they thought she was a drugged out whacko i don't think they would have allowed it to be this big of a deal. I don't know, just throwing some "stuff" out there to try and make a little sense out of this new information.
For those of you who have been with this case from the beginning....do you remember CD wanting to try and get enough money for gas to go to Odessa and pass out posters because of a tip from there? Someone said they saw Hailey on a street corner didn't they? Makes me sad if she was really there and no one could find her.
Conflicting information seems to be the status quo with the CCPD and has been since the beginning. I have no confidence in them whatsoever.
This report says, "Colorado City Police tell us they investigated this letter and determined the allegations to be unfounded. However, the District Attorney's office, tells us the letter has value and they are still looking into certain elements that are providing valuable information.

Then this report says, "He said his office, Colorado City police, the FBI, the 32nd Judicial District attorney's office and Texas Rangers have pored over the letter and interviewed those who might be familiar with its contents.
"So far, nothing has come out of it," Toombs said, adding, "If there had been a big break," information would have been released to the public.

Hmm. Maybe what they're saying is that it's not related to Hailey but still is useful if it could be another child. :waitasec:
FYI, I think LE knows exactly who is responsible for Hailey's disappearance.

Woman Speaks Out On What She Says Happened To Hailey Dunn
Sonjia Rene Callahan called KTAB news from a federal prison in East Texas. With only limited time to talk we asked her to tell us what she knew right away.
