The man accused of killing Auckland mother of three Blessie Gotingco has been found guilty of her rape and murder.

A jury of six men and six women deliberated for just over three hours before finding the 28-year-old accused guilty on both counts after a turbulent trial at the High Court in Auckland.

Simon Bridges prosecuted hundreds of serious crimes in the Bay of Plenty before entering politics. But there's one case the Cabinet Minister remembers as "unforgettable" - the abduction of a little girl by Tony Douglas Robertson who he describes as one of "New Zealand's coldest and worst offenders".

In December 2005, Robertson, who was just 18, kidnapped and molested a 5-year-old as she walked to school in Tauranga.

The mother of a 7-year-old boy Tony Douglas Robertson tried to abduct in 2005 says he has always been "very high risk" and continues to be in complete denial about his offending.

"He will continue to be very high risk because he's never admitted his crimes and never had any counselling," she said.

On December 14, 2005, the day before Robertson snatched a 5-year-old girl from Maungatapu Road while she and her seven-year-old brother were walking to school, he tried to abduct the woman's 7-year-old son and his six-year-old cousin.
