So she's not gonna be charged with accessory after the fact?
No, she is not being charged with accessory after the fact.

She entered into an agreement with the State in Nov 2022 for perjury charges, and the parole board will decide on 3/7 whether or not she will be released.

The plea agreement, obtained by Court TV, was filed on Nov. 16, 2022, and states that Kayla would receive a sentence of 3 1/2 – 7 years on each of the two charges. However, the agreement said that prosecutors would recommend that 18 months of the minimum term be suspended on one charge, and the entire sentence of the second charge be suspended.

That means Kayla gets her first chance at freedom this month. On March 7, Kayla is scheduled to appear before the New Hampshire Adult Parole Board, which will determine whether she can be released.

Kayla Montgomery appeared at a parole board hearing Thursday and was granted parole later in the morning.

She will be released in May after completing mandated programs in prison. She will be under supervision when released.

Kayla Montgomery has been granted parole. Her minimum sentence date was March 4, but she will not be released right away. She must finish programs that she’s currently enrolled in. Her release will likely happen in early May. @WMUR9.

Kayla Montgomery will also be under intense supervision for 90 days following her release. It includes regular check-ins and gives her parole officer more leeway to act on any violations.

From @WMUR9:

"She must finish programs that she’s currently enrolled in. Her release will likely happen in early May."

...and...

''KM will also be under intense supervision for 90 days following her release. It includes regular check-ins and gives her PO more leeway to act on any violations."

Sure, Jan (moo, at this time)

The affidavit information given, ( Kayla's absolute CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT ) out for the world to see will follow KM wherever she goes. She should never ever be around children again, IMO. New Hampshire residents beware.

Harmony never got a second chance.

KM testified that her oldest child lives with his father & stepmom and her three children with Adam have been living with her mother for two years.

KM confirmed she lost her rights to her children and has not talked to them but she also contends she lost them because an affidavit about Harmony "got out" which she thinks affected her losing her children.

Do you think? And lucky for your children that the affidavit "got out."

KM can appeal this decision but I'm inclined to think her mother will fight KM for her grandchildren (kids are still under child protective services). MOO

ETA: May 3 is the released date if she completes her existing programs.

  • She answered several questions about the crime she committed, what she has learned while in prison and her plans for the future.
  • "If I was honest from the beginning they could have done their job sooner...to find Harmony, know what happened to her," she said.
  • She was ordered to complete mandatory prison programs related to substance abuse treatment and have an approved home plan.
  • She will be under intense supervision for at least several months.

imho, it is very important to remember that a newly sober Crystal Sorey wanted the two children to be adopted by the same family.

Newly sober Crystal Sorey had 2 children in the legal custody of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The combined agencies listed scheduled her for custody hearings for the two children at the same time.

Somehow, the CPS workers assigned to the children didn't see that as a problem.

The GALs (or whatever term Massachusetts uses) didn't see that as a problem.

And now Harmony Rene is deceased.

Her death did not occur while Crystal Sorey had legal or physical custody of Harmony Rene.

The combined agencies passed her, instead, to a felon.

And now Harmony Rene is deceased.

Harmony Rene's death has zero to do with Crystal Sorey's parenting. Crystal Sorey's parenting would have added Harmony & Jamison to the same family -- which CPS, the GALs, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts prevented.

The suit may actually spur long-term change within the agencies that placed the vulnerable special-needs child with the convicted felon.

imho, the suit is fair, just, and will benefit the taxpayers of the Commonwealth in the future.

jmho ymmv lrr
This!!

This morning: Crystal Sorey, the mother of #HarmonyMontgomery, will appear in Hillsborough Superior Court to ask a judge to name her as the head of Harmony’s estate. She is also asking the court to legally declare her daughter deceased. Hearing set for 9 a.m. @WMUR9

A judge gives conditional approval of Crystal Sorey becoming the administrator of Harmony Montgomery’s estate. This is a step needed for Sorey to pursue wrongful death action. The girl’s father, convicted in her murder was given a chance to appear but refused. #wcvb

She [Crystal Sorey] said she's working with a nonprofit organization to put together a community search in late April targeting the Rumney Marsh area.

[...]

The court requires a certified copy of the jury verdict finding Adam Montgomery guilty of murder. For Sorey to be named the administrator of the estate, she must deliver a $10,000 corporate surety bond.

Once those conditions are met, the judge is expected to issue the orders.
