GUILTY NH - Harmony Montgomery, 7, Manchester, missing after placed in Father's Custody in 2019, reported 2021, *1 Guilty perjury, 1 guilty weapons* #4

Quoting myself, according to NH DOC she is still in their custody.

I remember watching her last parole hearing, when they were discussing her release, and potential living arrangements. There were lots of hurdles and such to overcome. I remember thinking at the time, good luck with finding an acceptable safe house. The conditions the parole board gave, along with KM's history made it almost impossible. I think she's stuck there...in limbo land. Sweet deal gone bad. Too bad, so sad. MOO

I agree and assume she couldn't find adequate housing or didn't complete a program she was supposed to.

IMO, I think she's just waiting on an opening in suitable housing.

From the quoted link, she was eligible for parole since Nov 2023 yet she did not have a hearing until March 2024. We know she was granted parole on March 7, 2024. Had she been disciplined/restricted since then, we probably would have heard about it. JMO

During her parole hearing, Kayla Montgomery said she's now working to stay sober and she's learned that it's more important to tell the truth.

The conditions of her parole include being under supervision for 90 days after release and checking in with a parole officer.

Stepmother granted parole in NH

3/7/24

Kayla confessed that when she first arrived in prison she was kicked out of the facility’s Focus Unit Program, a residential unit that focuses on substance use. She told the panel that “I wasn’t in the right headspace at the time,” and was caught “cheeking” medication. She explained that “cheeking” is when someone hides medication in their cheek, pretends to swallow it, and spits it out later.

The parole board noted that she had not faced any disciplinary action since July.

When the parole board asked her about her family, Kayla became tearful saying that she has four children but no relationship with them. She said her eldest son lives with his father and stepmother, while her three youngest live with her mother. She lost all parental rights and said that while she has been in prison, she has had no contact with any of them. She said that she has made them blankets and pictures, but doesn’t know if she is unable to communicate with them because of a court ruling or because her mother is keeping her from them.

Looking forward, Kayla will be released on May 3 and will be required to stay in a sober living facility for 90 days. She demurred when asked about what type of career or life she wanted in the future, saying that she once wanted to be a veterinarian but for now, “All I can do is take it one day at a time.”

ETA: I dunno, IMO - if I was in her position, I think I'd rather be detained until AFTER Adam sentenced.

Hard enough to live as one of the most hated women in America, I can't imagine trying to function in the public while Adam M is trending.

I recall the board questioning her about the intense public pressure she's going to face...

I believe what I was thinking back in March at her parole hearing, was just how hard it will be for her. She was recently caught cheeking her meds, so the addict is still very active in her. Staying clean on the outside is possible, but highly doubtful. IMO, KM's self esteem is non existent. Her own guilt and shame consumes her, and this coupled with being on the outside will only be exacerbated by the notoriety of the public.
A job? Co-workers? Room-mates? Do they judge her?

IMO, 'using ' will more than likely be her answer. She knows it, as well as the Parole Board. It's not a question of when she will return, it's if.

Think you may have that backwards a bit. It's not a question of if she will return to jail, it's when that will occur.

I was trying to careful, and sensitive. I agree with you in that aspect. However, I suggest ( subliminally) that she might not quite make it back to jail.....it will be a sort of self induced and chemically aided permanent detour...

Exactly...

When KM was first booked in Jan 2022 for food stamp benefits fraud and made bail release, I remember thinking that I doubted she could survive detox in jail.

When she soon after returned to jail after testing dirty/ violating bail release, I had little confidence she'd be honest with the GJ.

And sure enough, she was charged with perjury after lying about her job location and shift schedule!

I also recall KM would be escorted from jail to outpatient detox treatment before they offered to drop the Class A felony charge for welfare fraud, if she would testify against AM. (Or maybe the plea offer came before detox--I really don't recall).

But I do believe all women around AM had to be junkies-- he exercised control over them with either a fix or a fist. And KM had 3 babies with AM-- she was around that evil monster her entire adult life!

We know she lost her parental privileges to her four children (3 with AM and 1 other) and is not allowed contact.

I'm sorry, I just don't see sunshine and roses for KM outside of DOC.

I'm especially sorry for KM's mother left to raise the Montgomery children, her innocent children, Harmony's bio mother, and will never forget Harmony and her pink eyeglasses. :(

She told the judge she once wanted to be a veterinarian?! What is she doing- reflecting back to her hopes & dreams from when she was 5? Delusional. She doesn't have a caring or nurturing bone in her body. And taking her lifestyle and choice of men into consideration, she's probably as dumb as a rock.

Be a little more realistic, Kayla Montgomery- start small; aim for not just sitting around watching a child get beaten to death/murdered again.

Prosecutors have submitted their sentencing recommendation for Adam Montgomery, asking that he be sentenced to 56 years to life in prison for murdering his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony.

[...]

"The defendant robbed Harmony and her family of the person she was going to become," prosecutors wrote in the memo. "He killed all potential she held and eradicated the potential good she could do for her family and the community. Harmony left behind young siblings, one who was 1 year old when he last saw her, and another born later who will never know her."

The deadline for the prosecution and defense to submit sentencing memos is Tuesday. The defense sentencing memo was not yet available.

This is so disappointing.

Why can't #HarmonyMontgomery's brother's parents speak on Jamison's behalf in court? They should be able to face the monster that took Harmony and explain the impact it has had on Jamison.

This ruling is perplexing. A statement may be read from Jamison, but that is it.

Disappointing.

“He took his sister away. He took away the only person that protected him before he was adopted,” said Johnathon Bobbitt-Miller. “We need to look that monster in the eyes and tell him what he’s done to Jamison.”

They told Boston 25 News that they were informed by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office Tuesday that they wouldn’t be able to speak on their son’s behalf because of a court rule.

“Adam needs to hear that when our doorbell rings, Jamison still goes to the doorbell hoping that it’s his sister,” explained Bobbitt-Miller. “New Hampshire silenced Harmony. We won’t let that happen to Jamison.”

A spokesperson for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office sent the following statement to Boston 25 News:

“Pursuant to the victim’s bill of rights under RSA 21-M:8-k, the immediate family of a homicide victim has the right to appear and be heard at any sentencing, and to make a written or oral impact statement. ...

[...]

It is our understanding that, in addition to Harmony’s brother’s statement, they wish to be allowed to read their own statement orally to the Court; a manner not permitted by the statute. In accordance with their request, we are bringing the materials they wish to read to the Court’s attention prior to the hearing, so the Court may determine how it will review their materials.”

“... the ‘monster’ needs to hear how this has impacted Jamison and how it will impact him for the rest of his life,” a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, reads.

[...]

The court has asked Miller to read a statement written by Jamison directly, rather than writing and speaking on his behalf. Miller points to New Hampshire law stating if a person is too young a family member can make a statement.

“Why are we being denied this opportunity to speak for Jamison without limitations?” he wrote.
