In regards to Ms. Vanderhoff, one question that needs to be answered is: what activity was she engaging in that brought her into contact with her killer?

Her Facebook page lists her hometown as West Atlantic City and one poster here (JoeVanderhoff) stated that she was living in the motels along the Pike. Then there's this little snippet: “Friends had told the family they believed the body found on the side of the road was Joyce Vanderhoff’s even before investigators came to their Linwood home Friday.”

She was involved in some type of lifestyle that warranted the above-mentioned quote from her friends. But it's not clear what type of lifestyle that was. What is known is that, at the time of her death, she was involved in recovery from addiction.

Was it her activities involving recovery that caused her to come into contact with her killer? It might be the difference between her being a random, unknown victim or a targeted one. The possibility exists that she was being stalked by someone who knew her and her activities.

Thirty one hours later she's found dead on the side of a road. Coincidence?

Earlier in this thread an individual was discussed who happened to be Facebook friends with both Joyce Vanderhoff and Tara Rogers-Alicea. He made comments on Feb 13, 2014 on Ms. Vanderhoff's page that have already been discussed.

He also made a comment on Nov 5, 2013: “keep yo head up girl u got a excellent support group the people that really truly care about you”. He doesn't mention exactly what 'support group' that is but it makes me wonder if, at some point, Tara Rogers-Alicea participated in that support group as well. I'm not saying that this guy is a killer only that he may have made a connection to the two victims via recovery. A connection that the killer may have made as well.

It's an avenue that needs to be explored before it can be discounted. The Methadone Clinic in AC is located right there on 'the Track' on Pacific Ave. That would require a daily trip back and forth.

Agree with flounder33 and others about this being the same killer as in AC in 2006 and and of those four girls found at Gilgo Beach, Long Island as well. But what about Sarah Fox, who was murdered in 2004 in New York?

She was also strangled, not raped, and posed in a wooded area. She was not a drug addict but she does share a common trait of ALL the other victims, namely being very small and/or short.
Law enforcement claims to have had a 'prime suspect' in the Sarah Fox murder, but come on. It has been 10 years now and their 'prime suspect' seems like a bit of a nut job, nothing more than a sorry excuse for the NYPD to use to explain why they've got nothing whatsoever re: the Sarah Fox murder.
Just something to consider, that's all. The Sarah Fox murderer had a strikingly similar MO to the long island and NJ killer and I get the feeling all these murders might be done by the same guy. Thoughts?

Looks like the ball is rolling.... now it's up to whether this is the same guy responsible for Joyce's death.

(In my estimation, 27 years-old is probably a bit young to be the East Bound Strangler. Guess we shall see.)

Looks like a two strike drug offender, and my guess is there's also a past history of sexual assaults and overall misogynistic behavior; just the kind of unsub who would be responsible for Joyce's murder...and arguably the EBS victims.

Year later, no new clues in death of EHT woman found naked on road

Valentine’s Day was always special for Kathy Lydon and her granddaughter. “I called her my Valentine’s Day girl,” Lydon said of Joyce Vanderhoff.

Then, last Feb. 14, the day became one of unbearable mourning after Vanderhoff was found dead, dumped naked on the side of Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township.

After a year, there still has been no cause of death released in the homicide, no suspects named and no updates of any kind. When questioned recently about the killing, officials with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said they would not release any additional information at this time.

Woman's Body Found Naked on Roadside

Feb 14, 2014.... 25 year old Joyce Yvonne Vanderhoff found murdered at Hamilton Township roadside Friday morning ca 9 AM.

The New Jersey Medical Examiner's Office has ruled Vanderhoff's death as a homicide.

Some newsreports have stated that:

The man who found the girl said "she appeared to have been beaten"

Her body was found ca 15 feet of the road.

The body was naked.

The location of where Joyce Yvonne Vanderhoff's body was found is ca 15 miles N/W of Egg Harbor Township where 30 year old Tara Rogers-Alicea's body was found in a suitcase, Jan 5, 2014, strangled. That case is still unsolved.
(Tara was a drug addict and was possibly a prostitute)

Nov 20, 2006, 4 woman ( all prostitutes and drug addicts) were found murdered in Egg Harbor Township (2 of the strangled the other two was too decomposed to find a cause of death ), that case is also still unsolved, but there has been reports that the police have mentioned that they are looking into wheter Tara's case might be connected to the murder of the 4 woman (prostitues),
There are also theories that the 2006 murder of the 4 woman might be connected to the Long Island Serial killer case.

So the question is: is there an active serial killer in the Atlantic City area?

Not sure the same person is responsible for long island NY and Atlantic city nj document series rwas done on TV and person on TV they think is responsible does not look like john bittrolff. I do think the person spends time in the summer in AC
