GUILTY NJ - Martin Caballero, 47, Atlantic City, 21 May 2010

Once again, somebody that should have NEVER been out on the streets, completely destroys multiple peoples lives for the stupidest of reasons.

I know that this was always the case, but it seems like it's happening at a fevered pace anymore.

So sad :(
RIP Martin.
This should have never been able to happen the way that it did.

RIP Martin Caballero.
I never knew you, but as described by family and coworkers, you will be missed greatly.

As someone from South Jersey who has been to the AC casinos many times....visited the Jersey shore hundreds of times.....shopped in the Hamilton Mall several times.....this hits close to home. I am sick about this. Literally sick.

Ever since my uncle was murdered 2 years ago, I now know how it feels to have that kind of violence hit your family. I just want to weep for Martin's family. :(

Prayers for Martin's family and for justice. An terrible crime committed against a good family and a good man.

By all reports, Martin was much loved and well liked by everyone who was fortunate to know him - family, friends, co-workers.

My sincere condolences to everyone who knew and loved Martin. My prayers are with you in your time of this great loss.

Sincerely,
BeanE

My guess is Martin had a good amount of $$$ on him to use for the night=he was killed for way more then "just $300"..These evil perps just wanted to squeeze out every last dime they could=ATM machine..OTH! Maybe Martin had his wife holding the $$$ until he returned from the parking lot but either way it's a SIN someone so obviously devoted to his family & such a nice man (according to ALL who knew him) was killed in the process of celebrating his daughter's B-Day..Nobody deserves to be a victim of crime (especially one like this) but when it's ppl like Martin it makes my blood boil that much more.

Re: the entrance to the parking lot..At most places after you punch your ticket out the gate closes immediately after your car goes thru with no time for another car to "follow" yours..The gate would've hit the hood of their car but we know from LE the perps targeted him on the way in ("followed" him) but how? I'm very curious to know the way this garage works.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Caballero family!

:rose: Rest in Peace, Martin

May those who took your life in such a horrendous way be quickly brought to justice.

My prayers for your family. :prayer:

Beautiful flyer Lavanda. A true example of how what we learned of this man, sadly through tragedy, reflects on how he impacted the lives of us who were never blessed to know him. Martin will not be forgotten.

Sleep peacefully Mr. Caballero.

Mr. Caballero's funeral held.

Prayers for Libia and his daughters, along with those who loved him.

I was thinking about Mr Caballero... and searched some recent media about the two perps being held for his murder.

Another article indicates Jessica is the mother of a 5 yr old. Grrr.. .what kind of mother does this?

MAYS LANDING - Jessica Kisby’s jailhouse letters to Craig Arno, and his reported history of escape attempts, resulted in the alleged partners in crime being housed in jails miles apart, the county prosecutor explained Wednesday.
The Egg Harbor Township woman accused of helping abduct and kill a Hudson County father visiting Atlantic City with his family was moved to the Salem County Jail on Friday, after letters she allegedly sent Arno were intercepted at the Atlantic County Jail.
Kisby, 24, was moved without being told why, her lawyer said Wednesday. But Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel pointed to letters Kisby wrote planning to use “kites” — or other inmates — to help the pair stay in contact while separately housed in the jail here.

I'm still thinking of and praying for Libia and Mr. Caballero's daughters.
I am going to move this thread to awaiting trial.

I am praying other WS'rs than myself are interested in seeing Justice for Mr. Caballero and his family and following the trial.

For those who loved and knew Mr. Caballero Your dad, husband, coworker, neighbor, and friend, has not been forgotten.

I remember seeing this story on NG and then I didn't hear anything more about it. I guess Lindsay or Paris did something that made NG report on them instead of this case. I'm so sorry for the family's loss. RIP Mr. Caballero.

Thank you, Cubby. I too will be checking for updates. This was such a senseless murder that left a beautiful family without their husband and father.

The defendants were sentenced in 2012.

Craig Arno, 46, of Atlantic City, was sentenced to 126 years in state prison Thursday, and Jessica Kisby, 26, of Egg Harbor Township, was sentenced to 30 years.

Arno was found guilty by a jury of all but one of 28 counts against him in connection with the murder of Martin Caballero, including felony murder, carjacking, kidnapping, first-degree robbery, tampering with evidence, aggravated arson, aggravated assault, theft, conspiracy and multiple weapons offenses.
