Jury selection began Monday for a man accused of killing and dismembering his Las Vegas Strip performer girlfriend more than three years ago.

Jason "Blu" Griffith, 35, is accused in the death of Debbie Flores Narvaez, who police say went missing in December 2010 and whose body was later found in a tub of cement.

According to authorities, Narvaez, 31, went missing after she was last seen heading to Griffith's home to watch television.

Homicide detective: Defendant lied when questioned about missing dancer

Ten days after Debbie Flores Narvaez went missing, Jason “Blu” Griffith lied to and tried to mislead Las Vegas homicide detectives about where the Fantasy dancer was, according to testimony at his ongoing murder trial Friday.

In a 90-minute interview with detective Dan Long on Dec. 22, 2010, Griffith, an ex-Cirque du Soleil performer, described two other men she had relationships with who may have wanted to hurt her and lied about only having a brief conversation with her on Dec. 12 before he said she drove off, never to be heard from again.

In the recorded interview, which was played for the jury, Griffith said Flores Narvaez, then 31, was suicidal because their relationship was ending and suggested detectives search for her at an overpass at Windmill Lane and the 215 Beltway.

Jason Omar Griffith Says He Killed Girlfriend In Self-Defense

A Las Vegas Strip dancer testified Wednesday that he made multiple 911 calls, but police didn't take seriously his complaints that he was being harassed and sometimes attacked by the ex-girlfriend he's charged with killing and dismembering in December 2010.

Jason Omar Griffith, 35, took the witness stand in his defense after two other witnesses, a former boyfriend from Maryland and his best friend testified that Deborah Flores Narvaez demonstrated a violent streak before she met Griffith.

Griffith, then a dancer in the Cirque du Soleil show "Love," testified that Flores, a performer the Luxor hotel-casino's "Fantasy" revue, quickly became "clingy" and sometimes physically combative after they became intimate in early 2010.

Flores, then 30, wanted a closer relationship than he did, Griffith said, and she insisted that he pay attention to her. Flores sometimes called and texted him dozens of times a day, Griffith said.

Deborah Flores-Narvaez: Death of a Showgirl

Deborah Flores-Narvaez, 31, who always went by "Debbie," left the small Las Vegas, Nev., condominium unit she had occupied for about six months on the evening of Sunday, December 12, 2010. It was 7 p.m. when she entered her maroon 1997 Chevrolet Prism bearing Maryland license plates, according to video surveillance in the parking garage of the condominium complex. Her residence is located only a couple of blocks off the Strip on Duke Ellington Way, just behind Hooters Casino Hotel on Tropicana Avenue and not far from Liberace's former home. According to police, she was wearing black knee-high boots, a dark shirt, and dark jeans. The parking garage's surveillance video also showed that she was carrying a black, medium-sized purse or bag with a shoulder strap, and a white, medium-sized gym bag.
