Here's what I could find. I wish you the best of luck in your search for your niece. May she come home safe and sound. Do you have any info on her? I have not heard of her case before, which is odd since many of us are researching missing persons cases in NV looking for links to Brianna Denison.

We tried to keep it in the news as long as possible--such a tragedy--a 33 yo mother of 3--was last seen at the Las Vegas Wash with her boyfriend---treated initially like perhaps she wandered off...story on www.myspace.com/melanie_sutton.

I read elsewhere that this body has been ID'd as a woman born in the 50's, which would not be your niece or the other two you mentioned. I am grateful for this not being your niece, but I know you still need answers. I highly suggest getting as much info as you can on Melanie's thread here at W/S. And this is kind of a hard question, but has anyone in the family looked for Jane Doe's matching Melanie's description?

ETA: I think I am mistaken, it was another body that has been ID'd. So sorry for the mistake. I can't find anything new about the Sunset Park UID, only that it is a small person.

I looked at the Jane Doe's on the Las Vegas coroner's site--to no avail. And her parent's DNA is in CODIS--so she shouldn't be a Jane Doe.
But thanks for the suggestion.
 
Body at Sunset Park has not been identified yet--I just spoke with Clark County Coroner and it is NOT Melanie and they are pretty sure they know who it is--just waiting on DNA. http://www.lasvegasnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=7973280

Our prayers for courage and strength go out the the friends and family of Mariela Moreno--who is still missing from Henderson, NV.
 
I am so sad to hear that this young woman was found deceased. I have been following her disappearance and have tried to keep up to date info at skm because honestly, there wasn't a lot of media coverage of her disappearance.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
 
I wonder if they find any ties to Brianna? Or if they will say publicly..thanks RKnowley, I have been away, appreciate the link!
 
Where is sunset park? sad to say, but I wonder about her panties, grrr, this thing is infuriating, too many beautiful young women, so sad.
 
On Google, it looks like Sunset Park is in Las Vegas and is 7.7 miles from Henderson.

It makes me so sad to know she was found murdered. I had hoped she was found safe, but the odds were so against it. Bless her heart and her family. Their horror continues now.

I still believe they need to look for a possible connection to Brianna's abduction and murder. Now they should have evidence to compare.

There is a great distance between Vegas (Henderson) and Reno. I doubt there is any connection. I am so sorry for Mariela's family. RIP sweet girl...
 
Again, it was Las Vegas on NYE. I know people here that fly out to Vegas every year for NYE. The distance doesn't bother me in this case.

It was no longer NYE when her boyfriend "dropped her off at home" at 4:30 AM.
 
People aren't going to stop partying at the stroke of midnight and drive or fly back to Reno so I don't know what you mean. Most people don't return home until the 2nd. They hang out on NY's Day to watch and bet on football games plus to recover a bit from the party.

They also will not find their way to the Sunset Park area. It's nowhere near the strip - where most NYE partiers would be. Even farther from downtown LV. It's been said where Mariela was that night and it also is not near to where she was found.
 
Found this update from 2010 that cites the boyfriend being wanted in connection with Mariela’s murder.
The article also states the boyfriend as “ Isidro Garduno Munoz, her boyfriend who became obsessive” ....”Munoz quickly fled to Mexico where he befriended Luz Celina Rodriguez-Jimenez. Last April, she too met with foul play, "There's a lot of evidence because the police found her in his apartment."”
