Further in the article they talk about both the father and boyfriend being questioned. They specifically name the boyfriend but omit the father's name so I'm guessing the boyfriend's gonna be the suspect (surprise, surprise). Just my opinion though.

BBM - I wonder if he wasn't too excited about her being pregnant? Ray Caruth is in prison for not being happy about the upcoming birth of his child.

I don't think she stumbled into the basement herself:

A rank smell coming from a closet led police to the body of Andrea Caruth, 39, whose body was partially buried with gravel when she was found by cops. A plywood board in the closet above the crawlspace covered the homemade grave.

Spattered blood was found in the father’s downstairs apartment. Boyfriend Lincoln Grant, 44, reported Caruth missing one day after she disappeared. Grant — the last person to see her alive — told police that she never returned after going downstairs last Sunday around 10:30 a.m. to get dressed.

Caruth and her boyfriend lived in an upstairs apartment while her father resides in the basement apartment below.

How old is the dad? Maybe he witnessed her death and was afraid?

being a legal professional, I would never, EVER be questioned by police without a lawyer. NEVER! But that's just me, non trusting person I am😉

Her 61-year-old dad — who has yet to be charged with any crime — asked for an attorney, according to sources.

I've been open to either of them killing Andrea only because it was said that both were being questioned. I have to say that I'll be a bit shocked if her father turns out to be her killer. We shouldn't beat ourselves up too much though for assuming it was the boyfriend considering how fricking common it is for the boyfriend to be guilty in such cases. A father killing his adult daughter?! It happens but it's not too common, IMO.
 
Per CBS father has been arrested and charged with her murder.
 
Police have arrested the father of a pregnant woman whose body was found stuffed into a crawlspace in the basement of her New York home early Wednesday morning.

Caruth's 61-year-old father, who lived in a downstairs apartment of the home, has not been charged with any crime.

Investigators were interviewing Grant as well as her father about the death.
