NY NY - Chanel Petro-Nixon, 16, Brooklyn, 18 June 2006

I have very familiar with the area Chanel Petro-Nixon lived in and very familiar with the Applebees restaurant that is in the neighborhood. With that said that area in Brooklyn New York is densely populated urban area and It is highly unlikely that anyone would try to kidnap a teenage girl in broad daylight as someone most likely would of saw something.

After reading about this case I am of the strong belief that Chanel told her parents she was going to Applebee's for an interview when in reality she went to visit the boy at his house. (The same boy that she told her parents she was going to meet at the restaurant). I believe that individual for some reason strangled and killed her. The neighborhood she lived in is to open for anyone to commit a crime like that outside in broad day light and not get caught.

The report indicated that Petro-Nixon’s former classmate from a Brooklyn middle school — 29-year-old Veron Primus — was being questioned about the abduction of an ex-girlfriend on Saint Vincent.

The 24-year-old woman had managed to put a message in a medicine container, according to the Iwitness News outlet on St. Vincent, stating she was being held captive since January 1, 2016, by Primus...

Now, Primus is being questioned by the Major Crime Unit on Saint Vincent, and Chanel Petro-Nixon’s mother is waiting to talk to “Cold Case” detectives in New York City... [Chanel] had told her mother and her best friend that she was going to meet Veron Primus on Father’s Day 2006 to fill out job applications at Applebee’s on Fulton Street in Brooklyn.

In a segment airing Monday, “Crime Watch Daily’’ reporter Mary Murphy travels to the suspect’s native home on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, where he is in prison facing kidnapping and murder charges in other cases.

Murphy interviews Primus’s ex-girlfriend, Mewanah Hadaway, who shares a harrowing tale of allegedly being held in a crude wooden enclosure in the suspect’s back yard for three-and-a-half months...

Primus has been charged with killing a St. Vincent real estate agent after local cops found evidence of the crime during their investigation into the ex-girlfriend’s case, according to Murphy.

Ever since a Brooklyn honors student's body was discovered stuffed inside a trash can in 2006, New York City authorities have been trying to find her killer - now, that hunt has led them to the Caribbean island paradise of St. Vincent.

New York City detectives have long eyed Veron Primus, a former classmate of 16-year-old Chanel Petro-Nixon, as the main person of interest in the girl's grisly slaying. Now, after St. Vincent authorities rescued a woman Vincent allegedly held for months in a wooden enclosure, investigators in the 2006 cold case tell WPIX they have reasons to think Primus may be behind both crimes.
