NY NY - Corrie Anderson, 36, Jamestown, 28 Oct 2008

Thank-you so much, David Lohr for posting this! :gthanks: I can't imagine the pain Corrie's family must feel, knowing someone quite literally, "got away with murder" while they are unable to find full closure over this tragic and horrifying event.:sigh:

Corrie Anderson, a 36-year-old mother of three from Chautauqua County, N.Y., was last seen at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2008. Family members reported Anderson missing at about 3:45 p.m. that day, when she failed to show up at her son's school for a meeting. Two days later, a hunter discovered Anderson's car abandoned about 2 miles from her house. Authorities used ATVs, helicopters and dogs to search areas of interest in the case, but there's been no sign of Anderson. For more information, visit Findcorrie.com.

A piece of property in the Chautauqua County Town of Ellery was searched by State Police for a second time in connection to a nearly eleven year old missing person case.

Corrie Anderson was last seen leaving a Jamestown car dealership in October, 2008 and has not been seen since. Numerous searches have been held over the years without a trace of the mother of three.

Bumping for Corrie, still missing 12 years today. Seems little evidence transpired from searches or POI Ken Anderson-unclear if he was convicted in kidnapping and rape of wife after Corrie. Seems he was already married and has a history of violence (which the "legal" wife had reportedly conveyed to Corrie, leading to Corrie leaving him.)

Joseph Smith a detective of NY State Police as well as family (mother Vicki Acquisto, sister Autumn, daughters names unknown and son Zach now an adult) have not kept Facebook or other missing group or site going. This is most recent article I could find about efforts. Are they accepting she's dead and can't be located? Does anyone have info if her ex, Ken Anderson, an obvious bigamist and reported rapist, kidnapper, was convicted in KY where he allegedly held another NY woman?

NORTH HARMONY, N.Y. — The recent discovery of two sets of human remains in Chautauqua County put the families of missing women in that area on the edge of their seat.

Corrie Anderson's mom Vicki Acquisto, of North Harmony, is flipping through old family photos. Thirteen years ago this month, Corrie went missing, but is never far from Vicki's thoughts. The time apart: Immeasurable.

"It's almost like there isn't a length to it,” Vicki said. “She's always in your mind."

Quattrone says the sheriff's office is teaming up with the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office and other law enforcement partners to set up an unsolved crime division, which will include the Anderson case.

While there have been no arrests in connection with Corrie's disappearance, State Police say that her ex-husband, Ken Anderson, is still a person of interest in the case.

  • A hiker came across human remains Sunday evening just off a trail on Woleben Road in the town of Portland.
  • ...the first set of remains were likely there for a while, possibly decades,
  • Then on Monday, another set of remains were discovered by Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies and later confirmed to be human. [snip]
  • three open missing person cases involving women in Chautauqua County: Bova, Corrie Anderson and the 27-year-old Patricia M. Laemmerhirt,
  • The skeletal remains found this week are currently being analyzed by forensic experts in Erie, Pa., for possible identification.

It's not just that there are missing/murdered victims & grieving families...THERE ARE KILLERS ON THE LOOSE!

16 unsolved & cold cases are too many. Any ideas how to get these cases back on the forefront? Everyday that goes by there is no news, no searching, nothing.

Sigh.

Unsolved homicide case of 14-year-old Patricia Fairbanks as well.

1 was identified as Marquita Mull missing from Buffalo, NY & the second hasn’t been identified. Strangely quiet on their recent 2 year commemoration date of being located deceased in September 2023.
