Circumstances of Disappearance:
Mateo was last seen in Amsterdam, New York on June 10, 1989. He was fishing on the north side of the Mohawk River around 1:00 p.m. near Lock 10 of the barge canal. He has never been heard from again. He left his car behind, parked not far from where he was last seen.

An extensive search of the river turned up no sign of Mateo or his body. He was living in an Amsterdam hotel at the time of his disappearance. His case is unsolved and his whereabouts remain unknown.

This guy fell on the tracks and was hit by a train while travelling by train on June 10, 1989 in Union Square. There's a few disparities (but he was hit by a train) but there's quite a few things in common, could it be he died the very day he went missing?
