Deceased/Not Found NY - Mahfuza Rahman, 30, Manhattan, NYC, 9 Dec 2015

Apparently its just a post in a news site (daily news) that states her id card was swiped

What info does it give us to know she had access at Hunter when she disappeared?

I was pointing out that Mahfuza was a student in December 2015 at Hunter, according to her LinkedIn page.

I finished up at hunter last year (may 2015) and my id still works. In fact, I was there last week to use a computer in the library because my laptop was giving me problems. You can use their facilities after you graduate (library, gym, etc).

So firstly the husband says she's in Bangladesh to care for her parents after an accident (which was a lie as there was no accident which was verified by her parents), then changes his story & now says she's ran off with another man? Mmmm why don't I believe that.. Why change his story? Sadly I don't think this will end well [emoji45] any new updates?

Bronx man whose wife went missing purchased tools which could dispose of a body before fleeing to Bangladesh

The Bronx husband who flew off to Bangladesh after his wife mysteriously disappeared had purchased tools that could be used to dispose of a body — including “a cutting instrument,” the Daily News has learned.

A police source said Mohammad Chowdhury, 38, bought the equipment just before he fled the country.

THE BRONX - Members of the Bangladeshi community in Bedford Park rallied in front of the now-vacant home of a nurse who was last seen on Dec. 9.

Police say after giving them inconsistent information, Rahman's husband traveled to Bangladesh with their daughter and has been ignoring calls from the NYPD.

The NYPD says she has no relatives in the United States. They also say they are working on getting phone and credit cards to track their whereabouts

The NYPD is investigating Rahman's disappearance as a homicide. Just last weekend, police brought in cadaver dogs to the now-vacant residence but turned up nothing.

I've got goosebumps now.theres a possibility that he killed my friend. I am so hurt! I hope they find this *advertiser censored*!

If they find enough to charge him with a crime (probable imo), what are the legal options? As I understand it, Bangladesh does not extradite...

Even though their residence is urban, they lived near plenty of parks and bodies of water, including two major rivers.

I hope there is a way to track his movements via cell phone in the days surrounding her disappearance.

The husband called the NYPD from his native Bangladesh to proclaim his innocence — and said he fears his in-laws are out to kill him.

“He indicated he wants to return to New York. He said there were tensions with his wife’s family. He’s worried for his safety,” the source added.

Despite his in-laws’ disavowal of any car accident, Chowdhury is sticking to his story, claiming the only reason he flew to Bangladesh was to comfort and support his wife, sources said.

“He’s proclaiming his innocence,” a source said.

So....sounds like returning to the USA to face investigation on his wife's disappearance is safer than staying in Bangladesh and facing his wife's family.

Guess that plan of fleeing the country didn't work out so well.

Come on back, Chowdhury. The NYPD will give you a ride from the airport. :)
