GUILTY NY - Sarah Strobel, 23, murdered, Huntington, 3 Oct 2013

A special report on PIX 11 at 6:30 pm TODAY...with Kaity Tong and Brenda Blackmon. It's a NEW ‪#‎MaryMurphyMystery‬ that looks at the unsolved murder of Sarah Strobel in Huntington Station. She was found in a nature preserve, two years AFTER ten victims of a ‪#‎LongIslandSerialKiller‬ were discovered on the South Shore, in the Gilgo Beach area.

Yet again...James Burke's name comes up. Not surprised.

Justice for Sarah!

HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. — The similarities to some of the young women in the still-unsolved, Long Island Serial Killer (LISK) case are eerie.

Sarah Strobel, 23, was young, pretty, battled addiction, and talked about turning to “escort” work to make money.

But her body was found on the North Shore of Long Island — in a nature preserve in Huntington Station —while the serial killer victims were mainly deposited on the South Shore, although some of their body parts were discovered in Manorville.

“We can’t discount it, we can’t rule out the possibility that might be part of the equation for Sarah,” said June Margolin, a resident of Huntington Station who’s president of the community group, “Huntington Matters.”

When Sarah Strobel’s body was discovered near a path in the Froelich Farms Nature Preserve on October 3, 2013, the young women who knew her best from high school and the years after were aware about her downward spiral into heroin addiction

I really wish Sarah's friends and/or family would join us here and start talking about Sarah and tell us more about her life. In the smallest of details, IMO, answers could be found and this murder could be solved.
The silence serves no one, except whoever is responsible for her death.

Thank you Londonrraine for this video. I can't help liking PC Sini, I admire and respect all the things he's been saying. However one always has to be skeptical in words said. I don't want to find out later it was all just lip service.

Right now I trust him and hope he accomplishes all the wrong's that have happened and turns it around. Action's speak louder than words and good intentions...

A convicted Suffolk rapist was found guilty Monday of killing a woman in 2013, the first of several Huntington Station homicides that rattled the community and led to stepped-up patrols.

Fernando Romualdo, 29, of Huntington Station, faces sentencing Aug. 1 in the second-degree murder of Sarah Strobel, 23, whose body was discovered Oct. 3 at the Froehlich Farm Nature Preserve in Huntington Station. A Suffolk jury convicted him in a trial that began June 5.

Romualdo, a cocaine addict at the time, denies killing her and does not remember her, although he did go to a certain Huntington spot where Strobel had occasionally stayed, said his attorney, Craig McElwee of Hauppauge.
He was in an upstate prison for raping a juvenile female when he was charged last June with killing Strobel, who was also a Huntington Station resident and a 2008 graduate of Whitman High School.

“He does not specifically recall Ms Stroebel and has no specific recollection of engaging in sexual intercourse with her,” McElwee said in a statement. “He does however know that he never physically attacked anyone and never killed anyone.

Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota said his office will press for the maximum sentence.
“The victim was strangled and there were signs on her body of bruising and significant trauma,” Spota said in a statement. “Today’s guilty verdict means this violent sexual predator will be behind bars for decades, and the sentence we will recommend will be the longest incarceration allowed under the law - 25 years to life in state prison.”

Romulado had been sentenced to three years in October 2015 for second-degree rape.

ETA: 3 years for second degree rape. Shame. This guy should have never been out.

I believe he was in prison when it was discovered that he was Sara's killer. His DNA was collected because he was convicted of rape.
