NY - Seven-foot-tall head found floating in Hudson

I'm sure that the male rowers would have been happy with a little head. :blushing:

The female rowers, on the other hand, were probably thrilled to find such a big head! :saythat: :banme:

Do any of you think we are making any headway in solving the mystery of where this floating noggin originated?

:waitasec:

This article has a photo of the head from last year, when it was quietly resting in the woods, about 25 miles upriver.

So the most likely explanation is that it was dumped in the woods several years ago, and then recently someone rolled it down the hill, across the railroad tracks, and into the river.

Good sleuthing Paul! :great:

It sounds like that head has many interesting stories to tell.. If it could speak!

:D

It's made from styrofoam and fiber glass...that should rule out "ancient" right? An art project that no one wanted perhaps?

I wonder if there is a Headless Horseman roaming the area... Searching for his head?

:bud:

Your theory sounds logical and correct....though some may prefer one of the Ripley's-Believe-it-or-Nottish theories, such as the head was part of a New Orleans Mardi Gras Float that went astray due to Hurricane Katrina.

Couple comments in UK's Daily Mail were pretty clever: "Finally they can block the Hudson to excavate and find the remnants of Atlantis!"

(And yes, I KNOW puns are the lowest form of humor. Something just came over me...& God help me, I still have 3-4 more "head" puns in me)
