Just read on the NBC news site that:

Coello [the husband] has not been charged. Investigators said a medical examiner will work to identify the body to see if it is Adovasio. But sources say a tattoo on the leg of the body appears to be the same tattoo Adovasio had.

Not looking good.

He was the last to see her alive and called 911 to report her missing, but has since hired a lawyer and stopped cooperating, sources said

... Investigators identified the body of Tina Adovasio through photographs and a tattoo after she was discovered off the Taconic Parkway in Yorktown Heights, the sources said.

The medical examiner hadn't yet determined the exact cause of death, but sources said investigators believe the 40-year-old was choked to death.

Edwin Coello visited the police precinct this morning, but his attorney says he is not being charged at this time in connection with the disappearance and death of 40-year-old Tina Adovasio.

The former housing officer entered the 45th Precinct in the Bronx at around 10 a.m. and left 20 minutes later. Kelly says Coello was asked to provide a DNA sample and he refused

This guy's got to be kidding. He refused to give DNA? Who refuses to give DNA?

I would think that LE can obtain that from his apartment or even from their own records. According to ehow.com, all applicants for the NYC police department must provide saliva for DNA testing. He served as an officer until he resigned in 2000. Let's hope they still have his DNA on file.

Also, there's recorded evidence, this from bronx.ny1.com:

According to law enforcement sources, ... a surveillance camera outside the house caught the image of a man carrying a shovel and something large wrapped in a sheet.

NY1 has been told that police with a search warrant later found a shovel and sheet in Coello's car.

He's a goner. What with recorded evidence, neighbor reports, the sheet found at the scene, and a history of violent spousal abuse with Tina and his first wife, LE doesn't need his DNA. He can refuse to give it every day between now and when he's locked up for life for Tina's murder.

Two articles from the New York Post indicate that Coello's DNA has been made available to LE somehow and is currently being tested. As you recall, it was previously reported that Eddy Coello refused to supply DNA to LE.

I'm wondering if he finally supplied blood for testing or if LE obtained it in another way (from something he touched while interviewing with LE last week?). For a former police officer, it's difficult to believe he thought he could refuse to submit DNA and believe that LE couldn't obtain it anyway. He's delusional.

Finally arrested the . Arrested him today, the day of Tina's funeral. Which he did not attend.

It was not immediately clear what Coello, 38, was charged with. He kept his head down and said nothing as he was marched into the 45th Precinct.
