Portsmouth Police Find No Connection to Missing Girls

Portsmouth Police say they have found no connection between cases they are working on and a working group focusing on missing girls in the Chillicothe area.

The Portsmouth Police Chief said that his office is not an active participant in the working group or task force in Ross County, but said that they will continue to communicate with members of the group and exchange information that may be of importance to their investigations.

Our first opportunity comes Monday, when law enforcement officials will gather with members of our government, religious, and business community in a show of force against the darkness that has overtaken us. They’ll meet on the steps of the Ross County Courthouse and announce a new resolve to combat the ills we face.

They’ve created the plan, but we have to help. We can start by showing up, en masse, to the courthouse and showing them we are truly behind them. We need a crowd so big that everyone — but particularly the drug dealers, pimps, and criminals — must take notice.

At 2 p.m. Monday, it’s time to take action. It is time for the residents of Chillicothe to begin to take their town back. We’ll see you there.

“It scared me when they found that girl, Tiffany,” Boggs told NBC News. “I thought, maybe Charlotte’s gone, too, and no one found her. But then I think, no, she’s still out there. I’m praying. I’m hoping.”

In the community of Chillicothe, resting in the rural and green foothills of the Appalachians, residents are on edge. Since Trego’s disappearance, five other women have gone missing. Four of them have turned up dead — their bodies found in secluded, outdoor areas.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Police are investigating a possible lead into the disappearances of six women – and the deaths of at least four of them – after another near-victim killed a man about two hours away.

Neal Falls, 45, of Springfield, Oregon, began attacking a woman in Charleston, West Virginia Saturday night after the two had arranged to meet through a website often used to arrange prostitution, according to police.

A woman’s body was found — but little more than that is known. Police had a briefing, and Boggs came with questions.

“(I) was told it wasn’t Charlotte,” she said. “I was just wondering if it was someone that they knew, someone that they run with?”

Time does not heal all wounds.

Yvonne Boggs knows this to be true as she continues to cope with the disappearance of her daughter, Charlotte Trego, nearly 19 months ago. Since Trego disappeared, many people who her daughter knew or associated with have disappeared as well...

Boggs checks in regularly with the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation and those investigating her daughter's disappearance, and said they have told her they continue to get leads in the case.
