A Youngstown man was arrested Tuesday evening in the slaying of an Ohio girl whose body was found in a garbage dump in Mercer County.

Ricki D. Williams IV, 18, was charged with aggravated murder and kidnapping for the fatal stabbing of Gina Burger, 16, of Austintown, whose body was found Wednesday at the Tri-County Industries Inc. site along TCI Park Drive in Pine Township, Austintown police Chief Robert Gavalier said...

Gavalier said Williams and Burger knew each other. He said investigators believe the girl was held against her will and stabbed in the apartment complex. “We do not have a motive right now,” Gavalier said. The weapon has not been recovered, he said.

Williams is believed to have kidnapped Gina after she left her home and held her at a second location in the complex where she was killed, the chief said. It is unclear how long she was alive after being taken by Mr. Williams, though Chief Gavalier said it "wasn't that long."

A motive is unclear, the police chief said. None of Gina's personal items were taken, and while she may have been "pushed around a bit," she was otherwise unharmed, he said.

Mr. Williams and Gina knew each other through mutual acquaintances in the complex, the chief said. "They had no other relationship that we know of," he said.

I find it hard to believe this was an 18 yo peer who stabbed her repeatedly and threw her in the garbage. I wish they would say what evidence they have against Ricki D. Williams. I think he's the fall guy for someone else.

Investigators interviewed Ronisha Johnson, who lives at the Compass West apartments, where Burger was last seen by her mother on June 23. Johnson told police that Burger came over to her apartment that night, where she was stabbed in the chest by Williams. Johnson says she helped Williams conceal the body in a portable playpen, and put it into a dumpster outside the apartment...

Jacqueline Bacher told police that when she was waiting for Austintown police to take a missing persons report for Gina, she saw Williams struggling to carry what she described as a back pack and play type pen outside the apartment. Bacher says she saw what appeared to be the same items in a dumpster the following morning.

Police say the found a message carved into a hallway outside Johnson's apartment that read, "KILL FO FUN". They also found several holes in the wall that investigators say could have been made by a knife similar to the one used to kill Burger.

Oh God. This is just tragic. How does a young man get to be that screwed up at that young an age? And the poor girl who never had a chance to live her life, and her family...so much agony.

Prosecutors told Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz that they plan on seeking the death penalty in this case.

“There is evil in the world and he’s one of those evil people. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason he would do this,” the prosecuting attorney said.

It was revealed in court that Williams is homeless and is considered a flight risk.

This boy is a special kind of evil writing that on the wall and asking her mom if she wanted to buy the pen he was hauling out to the garbage with her daughter's body inside. I didn't think this sounded right, but I'm glad the girl who helped him move the body and saw her get killed revealed what happened. It's a shame they weren't able to band together and fight this guy off and lock him out and call the police His smile is so disturbing knowing the details from WKBN.

Williams has been locked up for the last three and a half years. Short of a last-minute plea deal, he will go on trial and could face the death penalty.

Wednesday, just one day before jury selection was to begin in the trial against Williams, a last-minute plea agreement was settled on.

Williams has agreed to plead guilty to all eight charges including aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and intimidation. In exchange, prosecutors have agreed to take the death penalty off the table as a possible sentence.

A sentencing date for Williams has not yet been set.
